Baseball stadiums work so much better than football stadiums for this. And it looks like they've put the ice further infield than in previous years which will be good for most of the fans in attendance that ever had a shot at a good view.

Interesting observation during that game that both those teams had won only one of their first 10 games this season - the Rangers then proceeded to get their shit together, the Sabres, not so much....

Love Thornton gesturing for him to take off the facemask and then basically going, "Alright, if that's the way you want it," and then ragdolling him around.

Leafs choke one away late. Up 2-0 with 4 minutes left, lose 3-2 in OT. Tied in points with the Bruins having played 4 more games.

Can someone explain this to me? Patrick Kane scored 1 goal and had 4 assists tonight in Chicago's 8-2 win over Ottawa. How is it possible for his +/- from the game to be -1?

Edit: Never mind, just figured it out. 4 of the 5 goals he was involved in were on the power play, but they don't count against his plus/minus numbers, and he was on the ice for the 2 goals scored against Chicago.

Would love to know if anyone has ever scored 5 points in a game, had their opponent score 2 goals (or 3 or 4) and end up with plus/minus in the negative.

Bad rap for Ovechkin. While not a great 2 way player, the 2013/14 season was a total +/- outlier for him and another high quality player Nicklas Backstom. Not sure what Adam Oates had in mind for a system but it sure was a dumpster fire.

I’d rather Bergeron rest. Marchand too. I’d send McAvoy or Pastrnak if we absolutely had to pick 1.

They are 11 man teams and 8 teams in the division need to be represented, so there will be a ton of snubs. Price isn’t playing at an all star level but who the hell else do you send from Montreal? Brendan Gallagher? Hard to get multiple players from one team. The Atlantic is 7 teams sending 1 guy and then 4 Tampa players, where the game is being played.

Anyways, Toronto lost to Ottawa last night so the B’s will come out of the break tied in points with the Leafs and have 5 games in hand.

Asinine that Bergeron was not selected.
The thing about this is I feel this is the year that Bergeron will enter the conversation as a Hart finalist. Admittedly, the focus on the pure counting stats stacks the the deck against him, but he will definitely be in the conversation as long as the Bruins continue their trajectory.

RIFan, I was thinking the same thing the other day about Bergeron and the Hart. I haven't been able to watch as much non-Bruins hockey this season as I have the past few years, but I honestly feel like he is the most important player to his team in the league from what I have seen. Not to mention, it seems like every time on the ice he does something, even little things, that make me giggle out loud, turn to my wife and say, "Man, he is so fucking good."

I'm torn between being pissed that he isn't on the All Star team, and being relieved that he will be able to get some rest that weekend.

The Avs won their 9th straight last night. Flying a bit under the radar, but the are holding down the final wild card spot. Heck of a turnaround, led by MacKinnon who should be a Hart finalist.

Elsewhere in the West, the Blackhawks are drifting. 5 points out of a playoff spot after a 7-3 loss to the Islanders. They might be in trouble especially with Crawford’s injury.

For the Spittin Chiclets fans here...I got a good laugh out of this from Commodore in an exchange with Whitney on the Leafs game last night. Commie’s complete hatred of Mike Babcock is amazing.

This anthem is awful

Is this guy an actual singer or some high school kid trying to be "dramatic" in song? Goodness.

That's maybe the worst anthem I've ever heard.

Start the freaking game already.
