Receivers will get the shit beaten out of them if is isn'tPass interference should not be a spot foul.
What rule? That's pretty basic footballI dont like that rule
He’s a Jets fan. Think about it.What rule? That's pretty basic football
That was as definitive a replay as you can get.If this ends on a touchback, this is the Sunday of the century for the NFL rulebook.
They’ve used paper for a long while. I’m not sure there’s a much better solution, maybe lasers?I still can't get over the paper thing. How, after all these years, do you not have a mechanism for that measurement?
When was the last time it was used? Don't think I've seen it before, and Michaels and Collinsworth sounded surprised as well (not that that's a great gauge for anything). They’ve used paper for a long while. I’m not sure there’s a much better solution, maybe lasers?
I can’t recall the exact games, but I have seen it three times in my life, I believe. Once might have been a small plastic card, the others were paper. When was the last time it was used? DAVID Carr says what I was screaming at the time.
Anyone know if there is any NFL rules primary I am not aware of. If me, and older brother Carr are right, it was on Jack fucking Del Rio to know this as well.
Come the fuck on, he's 26. No 26 year old quarterback in history has resisted the urge to stretch for the end zone on a play like that.Derek Carr you fucking idiot.
Yes, this makes sense. Of course, this is The NFL where logic rarely applies. It's only ruled dead at the spot of the fumble if the fumbling team recovers it after the ball goes forward.. The Raiders didn't recover it.
Personally, I would be happy if the fumbling team could never gain yardage from a fumble. If anyone on the fumbling team recovers the fumble, it gets placed back at the spot of the fumble. Just make that the rule for the whole game (even for balls that are fumbled out of bounds).
I'm not sure it was a first down, but there's no way that angle proves it given it's quite literally at an angle. If we were looking from the sideline with the chain perpendicular to the shot, we'd then be able to tell if the nose of the ball was ahead of the back of the sticks.oh yeah, I forgot...
In case anyone was wondering, it is worse to watch your season end because your QB is injured.
Im going swimming in a woodchipper now.
Yup. Just really bad situational football by Carr. Can’t kill your season with a mistake like that. Of course, Heath really deserves credit. He closed on him really well.I kind of think that the touchback rule - which is very punitive for the offense - compensates for the advantage the offense gets by only having to break the goal-line with possession of the ball to score.
In any event, every player should know that they're taking a huge risk when they extend for the goal-line.
That shot isn't even remotely close to the correct angle to judge that. Look at the link going into the back side of the pole and it'll give you an idea of how far it is off the ideal angle.oh yeah, I forgot...

Agreed. That angle is garbage and useless to try to discern if it was a first down. That shot isn't even remotely close to the correct angle to judge that. Look at the link going into the back side of the pole and it'll give you an idea of how far it is off the ideal angle.
I believe he's a repeat offender so 2 games should be minimum.2 game suspension for Davis, he will appeal
Sure was. Think it was to Sanu. Was that Matty Ice screaming “Get fucking Set!”
There was a whole thread on the topic but the goal line is special. Using your own language, if a runner goes out at say, the 1, the offense maintains possession, but if he goes 1 yard further it's 6 points?Yes, this makes sense. Of course, this is The NFL where logic rarely applies.
Speaking of, a fumble out of the end zone resulting in a touchback makes little sense. If the ball goes out at, say, the 1, the fumbling team keeps possession at that spot, but if the ball goes 1 yard further it's a 20 yard difference and change of possession?
