What do people expect from their defense this year? What does Talib have left?

Their defensive points allowed per drive over the past three years has been very good:

2014: 1.74 (or ~20.8 pts/game based on ~12 defensive drives per game)
2015: 1.43 (17.1)
2016: 1.51 (18.0)

which ranked 12th, 1st, and 3rd in the NFL in those years.

Can they keep it up, or is this the year that they slide back towards the middle?

If the Broncos win 11 or more games this year I'll donate $100 to the charity of your choice, J-man.

Not gonna happen.

The interior Dline, which isn't a strength to begin with, is banged up and the pass rush won't be as strong without Ware and with Ray missing at least half the season.

Offensively, there's still no QB and the Oline is still below average.

I'd say 6-8 wins is likely.

week 1 will tell me a lot a loss here and the locker room will start to take sides
denver has to start 5-1 in the first 6 games because 4 at home @ Buff @ LA

i get the outside throuht its sound esp if we lose mon night

a loss here mon den is 5-11 plob fishes 2-8 in the last 10 games started 3-3

a win with dal coming to town wouild pump up the team

i just see 10 wins esp if KC has nothing to play for in week 17 etither wrapping up a 1 2 seed or a div titte

denver fate how is more tied to Hou Tenn and Oak Hou has the same plob i do Tenn can their QB stay on the field for 16 weeks Oak can they have betther def the same TO luck won 5 games last year late in game

week 1 review

the first 50 min went about as best as i could hoped the last 10 min was due to mccoy marty scottierius and turnovers

a denver win sunday aga a top 3 team in dallas means denver will be in the playoff race all season

a loss means with KC and Oak with let say 11 wins means denver wouild most likey have to sweep oak or kc to make the playoffs they might have to anyway due to the ravens

Here
Was that what we should expect from Simien or was that an outlier? I was distraught by how well he played. He saw the field well and made good throws. His only really poor read was the screen pass interception. Other than Denver getting the W it was the most enjoyable game of the week.

He threw a horrific pass on the second drive that should have been a pick six.

This is who he is. Good enough to beat an above average team if they refuse to take advantage of his 2-3 fuck ups per game. The only other way to beat Denver is to just run the ball down their throats, which is impossible in Mile High due to the crowd noise.

its all about denver def if they on the fiead all year they will win 10-11 games now i dont know if that will win the west oakland is looking like the 2013 broncos and KC is also looking at 10-11 wins but denver domantied that game for 50 min and joseph is slowing a abaily to adjust mid-game held gordon to 58 yards CJ and charles move the chairs

a win sunday aga dallas and the AFC west will get 3 teams in the playoffs btw oakland looked very good on sunday

Brady? In orange? What a horrifying thought!

It is not too far fetched, especially considering the credibility that horse face has with his fellow HoF Qbs.

Still don't understand why they don't want Kaepernick essentially for free when they were willing to move assets for him 18 months ago.

Mark Schlereth has been beating this drum for a while. He, like some others, thinks Belichick will move on from Brady if he shows signs of decline this season. And that Brady to Denver will be the next shoe to drop if Tom leaves Foxborough. Unfortunately, it makes sense.

yeah and feglar and mazz on friday said brady will allalws play for ne i am not so sure

1 this is my befilf bill dream is to will a super bowl without brady brady as u fans know is hypercompive now ofcourse if brady has a 30 td 15 int year he might hang it up but if is 28 td 5 int then NE will have a worry because i doubt jimmy wants to wait past 2018 esp with brisset starting in indy

denver plob has this year and next with this def brady will want to keep playing bill will want to move on and kraft might try and froce jimmy out the door because kraft rightly so does not want brady going to Denver and winning a 6th or 7th ring in orange

yes denver has a bad ol but they did when manning was the qb as well look at early 2012 playoff 2013 and late 2014

brady if he was winning to play like his 2001-2004 seif couild keep open denver def for 2 ex seasons 2019 and 2020 as i think brady has 2 good years left after this season maybe 3 if they lessen his throws from 600 a season to 450 a season

bill wouild want brady with the rams or 4gers but couisns will go to one of those teams and from the brady 6 his dad still dislikes the niners if i ran the pats i wouild try to get Minnesota in the mix as minn is almost where denver is but brady wouild feel diss and want to try and beat NE

Schlereth is the guy who used to piss his pants so that opposing DL wouldn't want to touch him, right?

Something unfortunate that makes sense can also be really distasteful...

it might almost be worth it to see Brady win more rings with Denver than Peyton.

A question for people who have watched more of the Broncos than I.
What do people think of Simien? A lot of writers think he has looked great.
I have only seen his TD passes, but it seems like most of his success is coming on his first read to wide open receivers, if that is covered how is he doing?

When he faces a good defensive coach, will he panic when all the sudden he has to go through his progression?

good q

los angelse has 2 good CB that simeian played well aga in week 1 esp in the 3rd q mccoy has him in the gun a lot plus he runs out of the pocket a lot more than last year

the main diff is B Folwer 3 green derby are makeing more plays the 1 nevgange about simeian is 2 parts on denver 2nd drive sunday he misses a wide open DT near the end of the drive for 6 points and he back up too far did it in the LA game in the 4th that led to a mcmanaus miss that wouild had make it 27-21 late and on the 2nd drive aga dallas plus simeian is repoble for 14 of the 38 pts denver d has give up

well that sucked for me btw dont worry u guys will sweep buffalo unless dennington does it again

from yesteday viewpoint they put way too much on trevor he cannot throw the ball 40 times and win
the bronco coaching staff panic in the 2nd haif

yeah the refs did hose denver on 2 calls but sanders souild had just went down after he caught the ball and millier shouild laugh and joke after the game if those 2 things happheds buffalo only has 20 and denver has 22 these next 3 games for denver are playoff type games as denver will only be fav in 3 games after oct 22

well that was ugly unless u dislike denver but for as bad as denver was missing a 35 y fg and not scoreing from the 1 everyone in the NFL is going to have 2 or 3 awful games this season denver is still a 9-7 10-6 team

They arent as bad as they've looked the last few weeks. But its a bad offense for the third straight year and a dysfunctional one if they can't throw the ball to Sanders 12 times a game. Siemian isnt good and doesnt seem like a good fit with Thomas in this scheme for whatever reason. The OL can't pass block and is only OK when they're trying to run. CJ Anderson is a JAG. Their path to contention relies on the defense being the very best team in the league and creating points for the offense. The defense has been very good, but its probably a notch below that level. But the biggest problem is just the quarterback position is a disaster and Elway doesnt seem to have any plan to fix it. Siemian as a medium term solution was an awful decision at the time and is producing awful results.

with any mid level QB denver is 5-1 simeien is 30 or 31 as far as starting QB'S go
this can go 2 ways
1 way the good way denver goes 8-8 9-7 this wouildprove denver only needs a QB RT and 3WR/TE with this ser denver wouild still be last in the div but with the AFC north and Nfc West in 2018 pitt cle sea and the rams at home @ sf @ zona @ balt @ ciny and the 2 oddball games @NYJ likely 4th in the AFC E INDY 4th in south denver couild go from 7-9 to 11-5 next year if the QB pos plays better

the bad way we go to lynch he plays like preseason denver goes 3-13 4-12 and only gets to 7-9 8-8 next season

simeian wouild had been better in kubiak off in mccoy's p rivers wouild be a dream but
denver plom is they need a LT boies is more a RT
anderson is better than a jag denver feeds on teams only throwing to WR'S

the bottom line is simeian gives the other team 7-10 points a game the def only give up 16 to NYG and 14 to LA
u will beat LA but u need the exact same game plan vs atl or bosa and ingram will hurt brady

I think their Offensive line falling apart again is a bigger problem than the quarterbacks. Paying Melenick Watson over $5M per and missing on multiple draft picks will do that to a team. It is probably worth noting they only beat LA the first time due to a missed field goal at the gun and beat Oakland due to a combination of QB injury and horrific drops in their end zone.

watson is not that bad D steveson is watson wouild be better as a g i put most of the blame on elway he said it hisseif he wants to be the ravers i think he said it in 2012 it started in 2012 by picking brock in the 2nd round because of his size and freings with his son when R Wilson or L David wouild had be betther choies

i think denver needs to trade tailb to a win now team like ATL Minn rams for a 1st in 18 2nd in 19

Nobody's giving up a first and 2nd rounder for Talib. Hell, nobody's giving up a first for him. That's not how the NFL works.

The statuesque Osweiler behind a porous offensive line seems like a disaster waiting to happen.

I have to think Kaepernick, a guy who can make things happen when plays break down and who always has been pretty good about taking care of the ball and avoiding picks, would have given them a better chance to win than any of the QBs currently on the roster.

i couild go on a rant about my own team

and kucos the the guy that said denver will be lucky to win 8 games this season

denver will luck their way in to a few more wins plob Ciny nyj and indy

vance joseph seems like a yes man for elway boy had elway hired him in 2015 brady wouild had 6 rings yes we where going to hire VJ for our DC but ciny said no the bengals cost u a ring in 2015

the weird part is IF denver wins 1 of the next 2 games they still have a shot at 10-6
Ciny never has won in denver
@oak denver matches up well stopping oakland off
@ mia miami has just as bad off as den
nyj jets have no big play guys on off den should win this game like 16-13
@ indy they are tanking denver will win this game even if we are 3-10 going into this 1
@wash the toughest game after nov 12 Denver actillily should be 8-6 here but denver shouild win this game couins is at his worse in dec and other than te j reed noone scare me on that off
kc what u need is kc to have to play for the 2 seed assuming ne 12-3 kc 11-4 pitt 11-4 if kc has the 2 seed on lock denver will win this game

but at this point den is most likely a 8-8 team

here is what i worte at pats pupit
and ouite honestly next Sunday night will be a horror show for non pats fats

here is my tale of the tape

QB NE

RB NE

WR NE

TE NE

OL NE

DL NE

LB den

CB den

s ne

coach ne

denver QB'S are bad but it all starts with the OL they are awful at pass pro

the RB'S have tailed off

we only have 2 good WR but if gilmore comes back i think denver can make some plays outside

idk what to say about denver def lack of a pass rush comes to mind the TE and slot WR are way too open

but i am giveing denver def a pass because the Eagles couild be a superstar team for years to come

and honesty the only team that can stop ne from getting their 6th super bowl

yes the final score was 51-23 but its was really 44-9

the only drama this game will have is will ne win by 10-13 or 28-35

if its 10-13 pts then denver will win about 3 more games if its 28 or so denver might win 1

either NE 26-10 or NE 45-14
