That was an incredible match. Huddersfield go to Anfield next, I would put money on Liverpool as I think Huddersfield will be completely emotionally spent after this one.

I would put money on Liverpool as they're the far superior team. But still, going to be a fun week, and then there's the whole Wagner/Klopp thing...

The success of the promoted teams has been one of the big surprises this year for me. Most people figured Newcastle would be decent, but Huddersfield and Brighton are in the top 12 right now. That's putting a lot of pressure on more established sides to avoid a relegation fight.

Congrats again, Steiny. It's one thing to win promotion, but another to have a day like that. I imagine they'll be reminiscing about it in West Yorkshire for years to come.
I imagine Wagner is going to be getting more and more attention from bigger clubs. I wonder if and when and where he'll go.

Recent promotees Burney and Watford also look good.

That’s a lot of teams punching above their weight. Someone has to sink to the bottom. Who? Why Everton of course :(:kitty:

Honestly, I thought at least two would stay up. The 8th place team in EPL last year had 46 pts; I think there were a lot of bad EPL teams last season but only 3 could be relegated. (Those three are 13th, 14th, and 23rd in the Championship, Sunderland's in relegation zone again.) All three promoted teams have solid managers and Brighton and Newcastle were a step above Championship competition last season. It's early and I think one of Huddersfield or Brighton will fade but I wouldn't be suprised if they both stay up.

The last time all three promoted teams stayed up was 2001

Before the season started I thought Stoke would be in trouble, and it looks like they may be.

The bottom three now are Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, and Stoke. There's a good chance that those are the ones going down.

Bournemouth looked pretty good last season but they look terrible. Stoke- don't do anything well. Palace has enough talent to turn it around but they have dug themselves a hole.

I wouldn't be surprised if West Ham fell into the drop zone.

Swansea seem to be more solid than last year.

Leicester seem iffy.

Southampton are currently in 10th but they've had an easy schedule to date and they seem to underperform all the time. Wouldn't be surprised to see them near the drop zone but it's a stretch to think that they'll be bottom three.

I'm assuming that my Toffees pull their heads out of their asses to get at least to mid-table.

P45 getting printed as we speak. Koeman would not have been on my list of managers not to make it to Christmas, but he's a dead man walking now, surely.

As he should be. After the lineup construction and tactics problems became obvious, he needed to act decisively in putting together the teams best XI and instilling an identity. He failed miserably.

What % of fault lies with Koeman in terms of the player acquisition mistakes I can’t say. Some, not all. Three 10’s and no 9 is painfully obvious, and Klassen in particular looks like a bust. Lack of depth at the back is another concern.Still, there are good players here and they have not been used properly and he has lost them. That’s on him.

Oh sweet lord Lovren... bailed out by Mignolet and a subpar finish by Son

Mercifully, Lovren's day is over. Oxlade-Chamberlain on in his preferred RB position

edit: guess it's Can at RB?

Liverpool benefit from a foul being called against Milner... had there been no call / advantage been observed Trippier was in

Why head it back into play, just head it behind. Amateur hour.
I hate seeing that kind of thing. I don't expect players to be intelligent but in terms of footballing intelligence i think that's basic stuff...and you see it all the time. Celtic do it in Europe a lot.

Terrific win for Spurs; who have had a bit of a cupcake schedule so far.
