And now Chris Davis has homered for the second straight inning, 13-11. Again, pretty sure that hasn't happened in the 12th/13th too often in baseball history...

BAL holds on, their bullpen has really been exposed without Britton, though.

Chris Herrmann had a walk off HR in the bottom of the 11th for Torey Lovullo's team. You could tell from the crack of the bat it was a no doubter. D-Backs are 24-18.

Braves - Blue Jays getting interesting. Freeman getting drilled and had to leave the game, retaliation, a quick pitch, and a HR by Bautista with his ridiculous bat flip, stare down of pitcher and jawing with some of the infielders.

CB Bucknor at it again. Looks like he had dinner reservations in Detroit. Calls an obvious no swing by Machado a swing, game over with men on 1st and 3rd. BTW he was on 1st and they appealled to him.

Even the guys at MLBN were like "there are no restaurants open that late in Detroit!"

Haha, I was watching on my phone and didn't realize that was CB Bucknor who made that call, but man does that make sense. That guy might be as bad at his job as Harold Reynods is at his, and that is saying something.

Not sure where this fits, but didn't see it mentioned anywhere else and it happened in a game in May, so....

Kevin Pillar called a Braves reliever a "fa**ot" after striking out. He apologized afterwards but may be too little, too late. Link: www.thestar.com/amp/sports/bluejays/2017/05/18/pillar-should-be-suspended-for-homophobic-slur-griffin.html
2 games is extremely light for him. Should be given 10-15 and mandatory counseling and training. No place for bigots in this world.

Completely agree. He's apologized, but can you imagine the uproar if someone had used the N-word, and then apologized?
Bigotry is bigotry. No place for it. Should be a zero tolerance minimum 10 games. 2 games is nothing. He's not going to learn his lesson here.

Teheran had an absolute stinker tonight at home. 9+ ER in 4+ IP... gave up back to back HR to LUKE MAILE and MARCUS STROMAN.

The 2017 Padres are as bad as any baseball team I've ever seen.

It's Wil Myers, Don Orsillo announcing, and a bunch of guys whose careers shouldn't have begun yet or should have ended years ago.

Even for a team that's tanking they are impressively terrible.

The Mariners have been outscored 34-2 in the last 2 1/2 games (16-1, 8-1, 10-0 in the 5th tonight).

Twins and Rays tied at 5 in the 14th, Joe Mauer has been up 7 times and is 4-4 with 3 walks. Unfortunately for MIN, Kennys Vargas is hitting behind him and is 0-7 with 4 Ks.

This game has gotten fun. TB scored in the top of the 14th to take a 6-5 lead. Super special gold glover Kiermaier dropped a short fly ball to start the bottom of the 14th, and the Twins have subsequently tied the game.

EDIT--Minnesota squandered 2nd and 3rd, one out after tying the game. Longoria and Morrison then hit back to back homers in the top of the 15th. 8-6.

Astros finally losing one today, down 8-2 in the 8th to the almost as hot Twins...

until they score 7 in the 8th, up 9-8 now.

Sorry, did I say a 7 run 8th? They weren't done, 11 in the inning, up 13-8 now. I know it's still May, but hard to see anyone keeping them from the WS if they stay healthy.

Craig Breslow contributing to the end of that Twins meltdown.

also yeah it looks like the Astros will cruise to the AL West title right now but they still haven't won a postseason series with this core. let's see how they look come September, and anything can happen in a short series.

Quite the fight in this Nats - Giants game. If they really did just hit Harper bc he's good and hit a couple HR off him, then I'm on Team Harper. Fuck the pitcher and I'm glad he got punched.

I agree but unfortunately Harper didn't land a decent one. Harper missed badly on the helmet throw and then copped an open handed hook to the jaw that sent him reeling back. He missed completely on his first punch and then got weak contact on a right hand lead.

Going to get suspended without having really had the satisfaction of a good punch.

Posey just stood there and let Harper charge the mound. Pretty odd.
Yeah, I noticed that too. He stayed out of the fray even when it became a pile on. Pretty smart for a guy who has missed an entire season due to injury

Harper has enough of a reputation that you generally don't want to give him the benefit of the doubt. But if you're a grown man who needs to have teammates literally drag you off the field, through the dugout, and down the tunnel then you're an ass and should be embarrassed.

Man, Posey's reaction is pretty damning. Just as Harper moves toward the mound you can see Posey's shoulders and head drop in seeming disappointment. Literally zero attempt to stop Harper from charging... Strickland may not be very popular in the clubhouse at the moment.

Reputation for what? Not liking being thrown at?

Strickland was an ass.

The whole infield seemed to just stand and watch.
