278 had Villanova going to the next round. Pretty much a wash unless you had them in final four or further.
Maybe, but some folks picked up some points today and that matters. Need Wisconsin to lose next game so they don't get any more.

Hah! I picked Wisconsin and didn't even remember until I checked just now. I'm up to a fifth place tie. I think that's the highest I've been since I had Butler winning it all in 2010.

Yeah I guess a wash was wrong term. But not bracket breaking. I dropped from 6th to 16th and am real glad I at least didn't have them making the final 4.

And with the Arizona win, I'm done. It was a fun three days, at least.

Excellent, thanks. My three sheets each still have a chance to finish in the money (1st, 3rd, and 3rd).

What's going on with Alyssa Cassidy's bracket?

http://www.mysideline.com/u/2912/collegebbmens/playerpicks248.htm

Her scenario:
290 29 290 25 290 25 Doesn't matter

The ONLY game she has left that she can possibly get points is if Florida wins. She picked Kansas, Duke, UNC, Baylor, etc. to win a game, so she didn't just go with upsets. But she's much worse than just a coin flip, at 33% correct.

I think for the first time in a long time I'm really going to be able to enjoy the rest of the tournament. Most of the payments are in and those that aren't I have heard from those and should be in shortly. Of course I'm still waiting for lupojohn. I think we can thank @Matty005 for me still running the pool. He suggested to me to use Venmo. That has been a big hit. So I'm off to watch the games tonight and root for my dog Patriot (BudBud) to win the pool. Go Arizona!

The Arizona loss knocked out my Arizona bracket. I also lost my UNC bracket last night somehow.

My Gonzaga bracket is still alive for first place however.

Still alive...I need Gonzaga over Florida in one Final 4 matchup and Kansas over UNC in the other, then Gonzaga winning.

+1 other combo. Maybe I can survive SC beating Florida.

That's a pretty decent chance for you. Gonzaga is playing decently well and Kansas looks unbelievable right now. Good luck sir!

If Oregon beats Kansas, I start to have a decent shot. Technically I win the pool with 27 out of 256 combinations, but I suspect they almost all have Gonzaga winning and Oregon beating Kansas.

Still waiting on 21 payments. I've heard from them all so I expect to get them all in and much better than previous years but still frustrating.

I'm one of 4 people who can possibly win the pool, so I'll be paying close attention! Doing some quick and dirty calculations using 538's percentages, each person's chance to win breaks down roughly as:
  • C. Steinhardt ~ 48% -- All this person needs is for Oregon to beat UNC in their Final Four match and they've already won!
  • S. Montemurro ~ 29% -- Needs 'Zaga over UNC (~22%), or S. Carolina over UNC (~7%)
  • R. Cornell-Brown (Me) ~ 17% -- Need UNC over 'Zaga
  • R. Herrick ~ 7% -- needs UNC over S. Carolina.
Good luck to all!

All payments are in except from old friend lupojohn. I'll update the site when I get home but here is what's up for grabs tonight:

1st $2,810
2nd $1,405
3rd $675
4th $450
5th $280

Zags win and I'm in the money. 538's got them at 62%.

Last time I relied on 538 I was extremely disappointed. I think I'll just consider this a 50/50 shot and enjoy the game.

Gonzaga is currently about 48% in the betting market. Might be time for Nate to find a new line of work.

Bovada or a similar online site. I was in a similar position for the Michigan-Louisville final. Threw $600 on a Louisville moneyline and came out with about $200 or $300 instead of winning zero.
