MYRTLE BEACH!!!!
It's a 3 oz ball from a crow hop with a Pocket Radar. It was probably faster than 110 because that device is crap.

It was day 1 of max velocity day? I'm pretty sure day 14 is the day they put the entire staff on a bus for UCL exams in Alabama. /sarcasm

Is it the camera angle or has Youk lost weight since his playing days?

Buchholz is looking forward to his new role with the Phillies -

As a reliever, Buchholz may have found something that could help him revive his career as a starter. Upon returning to Boston’s rotation last summer, Buchholz allowed two runs or fewer in six of his eight starts.

“I eliminated a lot of movement that I feel like I didn’t need and could concentrate on throwing the pitch and throwing it where I wanted to throw it, rather than mechanical flaws or trying to do something different through a windup,” he said. “I’m coming into camp right now thinking I’m staying in the stretch because it worked out good for me.”
He's playing it very classy too...

“I think everybody nowadays knows one player doesn’t stay with one team his whole career,” Buchholz said. “There are a select few guys that have done that over their career; I was playing on the same team with one of them, Dustin Pedroia. He’s been a staple there forever.

“But I think a change of scenery for me, just to get somewhere else and meet some new guys and play for a different uniform, a different organization. For the Red Sox, they gave me a lot, gave me the opportunity. But a new chapter, and I look forward to going on the field with these guys here.”

That article is wrong BTW in starting that Gagne's last season was with the Red Sox. It was w the Brewers the following year when he got dumped from the closer role in May (for Guillermo Mota!) after they gave him $10M for a 1 year deal that offseason.

The only other pitcher I can remember being out of baseball for 5 years and making it back was Dave Stieb as a 40 year old, and he predictably kind of sucked in 50 innings. Though I guess replacement level is sort of an achievement.

What?
I thoroughly enjoyed the spring training beat down administered to Jim Palmer's comeback attempt back in 1991.

He's not even the only former Redsox pitcher trying to come back from a 5+ year hiatus this season. I'm guessing neither will end well.

Sounds like you guys have already blocked out the Steve Ontiveros Comeback Experience.

Although he did spend some time in the minors in his 5-year absence, so maybe he doesn't count.

I believe in a thing called hope...*

* But I assume it's not a great sign that Bard is currently throwing on a empty field to guys using aluminum bats.

There's a certain "world coming full circle" because the way he's been pitching, he's just as likely to groove one as he is to hit someone in the face.....and now he's pitching to guys using metal bats. Seems to level the playing field a bit

I doubt any of us thought he'd lose his speed, it's his head that is the difference between success and failure for Kopech.
Beside punching a teammate (or was it a wall?) what other headcase issue has he shown? It seem to be behind him.

Our good friend Clay Bucholz making his Spring debut with the Phillies. 1st inning, walk, HBP and of course a three run bomb. Some things never change.
