This is quite the solid field. I was expecting Tiger and some borderline pros based on the coverage of the event in the media.

Edit: And why are spectators in the fairway bunkers?

They technically aren't bunkers, they are waste areas.

As for the field, it's only 18 players but you have to be in the top 50 OWGR. It's mostly a year-end money/owgr points grab.

He's getting interviewed right now. I have to say, I am realyl excited to see Tiger really excited about being back to playing again. I hope he can finally stay healthy and competitive for a while.

Tiger moving backward today with a couple doubles. Still, something to build on. It will be interesting to see what his schedule looks like for '17.
It is a tough balancing act. I do think he needs to play more in order to build up the stamina, etc. But at the same time I have serious doubts he could hold up to anything that resembles a full schedule.

One of the Middle Eastern tournaments on the Euro tour is probably next. Then Torrey, Riviera, Honda, Arnie's event, if his health remains OK. I don't think any of those are back-to-back weeks. He's not eligible for WGC's so he could theoretically add one of the Texas stops in place of the match play and Doral in the lead up to Augusta.

The best thing about this week is that he finished 4 rounds. There's enough in his game for him to work with. As always, the question will be health. I firmly believe he can win again if he can stay healthy.

Totally agree he can win again if he stays healthy, especially if his chipping and putting returns and it looked good this week having the Scotty Cameron back in the bag. He drained some pressure putts to save par multiple times

As a bit of an aside, during the first round Begay was relating a story from a practice round, where he noticed the old putter and commented to Tiger 'Bet you're glad to have that back, huh?' Tiger responded along the lines of 'You have no idea...the thing swings itself.'

I don't know if it was greed for his endorsement deal with Nike or just hubris (probably a bit of both) but it blows my mind that someone so competitive would play ten years without a club he loves so much.

Bryson DeChambeau continuing to try to prove he's smarter than everyone else. He is putting facing the whole, as in his entire body is 90 degrees perpendicular to a normal stance, with his putter dangling on his right side and his left arm grasping his right, as he tries to pendulum the club through.

The best part is this is a twosomes event, so he is paired with Lexi Thompson, who gets to watch him actively cost her money with this nonsense.

I love seeing Stricker and Kelly atop the leaderboard at the Franklin Templeton Shootout. Definitely rooting for them to win.
