where I was last at
I already posted upthread "I'm rooting Tribe/ but Cubs in 6", but I'm also rooting for Jon Lester every time he pitches.

I have a feeling i'm going to be terribly conflicted at some point.

I'm rooting for the Indians, but I voted Cubs in 5. I think it will be a lot like 2004--getting to the WS was the hard part, the rest will be a cakewalk. If the Indians were at full strength it might be a different story, but their starting pitching is still too much of a question mark to think they can get through another series against a quality club. But I'll be rooting for them, although as a baseball fan and someone acquainted with the fear that I'd never live to see my team win a World Series, I'll delight in whichever team ends its long championship drought.

Rooting interest aside, the Cubs are certainly a very good, well rounded team. But I think people--including oddsmakers--are selling the Indians a little short. They just beat two very good teams, losing one game in the process. Tito will have a crazy short hook with everyone other than Kluber, and their bullpen is pitching lights out. I think they find a way to win in 6.

Indians in 6. Cubs fans make it easy to root for Tito and Nap. I actually had one try to tell me that he'd rather take the last 15 year of Cubs ball over the last 15 years of Red Sox ball because of the future.
Drop the 1 off the 15 years and you get when Theo joined the Cubs. I could see that argument, but not the 15 year one.

Re: Lester. I was wrong about the Sox signing him. He was clearly worth the money he gets, given what the Sox are paying for a roughly equivalent or lesser "ace." On the other hand, I look forward to Francona's guys running on him, simply b/c they ought to. It's part of the game, and Roberts really let me down (or Hernandez et al let him down) in that regard. I voted Indians in six, because having seen how both teams are performing recently, the Indians look better to me. If the Dodgers had a deep bullpen, so that they never ever have to use Joe Blanton in the post-season, especially once he'd shown he's in a funk, then the outcome of the NLCS would probably have been different.

I don't care who wins the WS. I just hope the team that performs better wins, and that the umpires do a good job.

The Cubs starting pitching is ridiculous. The oddsmakers are in line with the reality the Indians are facing.

Cheering for my guys, but it's gonna be a tough lift for them to win this one. Not voting.

Also the Indians' SP is not as good as they're pitching right now. Kluber yes, the rest no. That was what was so frustrating in their romp of the AL East in the playoffs, really.

If the Cubs can smash Tomlin & Bauer... yeah. They have been 65% favorites in all three series for a reason.

EDIT: And sometime Shaw/Allen could spring a serious leak too. Andrew Miller cannot pitch 5 innings every game

Yea well see the Indians just have to keep it up for 2 more weeks not 6 months.

"Theo Epstein grew up two miles from Fenway Park before living his dream of running Boston's front office for nine years. Ultimately, Epstein decided he needed a new challenge, so he went to the Cubs to try to put an end to a championship drought even longer than the 86-year dry spell he helped end"

"Epstein decided he needed a new challenge"
Agree or disagree?

Anyone can spring a leak. But Allen hasn't given up a run in his last 11 appearances, and only one in his last 22. He's pretty damn good.

I would say that's a polite way of saying it. Take the high road.

This is interesting...

Kyle Schwarber en route to Cleveland now on a private jet. He's expected to DH for the #Cubs in Game 1.
The Cubs carry 3 catchers already (Montero, Ross for Lester, and Contreras) and 3 games are played by NL rules. I do not believe Schwarber can catch or will be counted on as a catcher but that is an interesting roster move nonetheless.

With the Schwarber move, could the Cubs theoretically drop him for a pitcher when the series shifts to Chicago? Phantom injury of sorts

If Bauer's finger or Salazar's forearm blow back up we may see Cody Anderson brought back that way.

Is there any way for me to watch on Roku/PS4? We cut the cord and the antenna I bought sucks ass. I signed up for the SlingTV trial, but they don't offer local channels here. Help!

How many Cleveland fans are picking up a cheap ticket to watch the ring ceremony for Cavs and then crossing the street for Game 1?

Wonder how Jonathan Lucroy feels about his decision to turn down the Indians and go to the Rangers instead right about now.
The Indians thank him. Don't know how much of a difference he would have made but Andrew Miller is not in Cleveland had Lucroy accepted that trade.

Any Bill Lee fans reading: he is on the NBC station from Burlington, VT. participating in a gubernatorial debate. He hasn't spoken yet, so have no idea how nutso he is going to be.

That Fox open was DARK. Bunch of old Cubs fans and old Indians fans describing how hard it's been to wait for a championship.

Half will be rewarded. The other half will die unfulfilled
