Pretty good first hole for Brooks. And then Willett drains a really long one to halve. Willet sweating profusely.

This not-Sergio Spaniard has been really good until that drive, which may or may not have gotten wet.

Pretty early here, still plenty of time for the US to get a few birdies back, but they look to be about to go down two or more in 3 of the 4 matches. Gonna need the big boys (Spieth, Reed, DJ) to play to their world rankings here.

At this point, I'd be ecstatic for a 2-2 split this afternoon.
If you'd have given us the chance to be up 6-2 after the 1st day? Who doesn't take that? We knew Europe wasn't going to quit. That's not what they do. Gotta keep the pedal down here and play as confidently as they did this morning.
Am I already very tired of this Davis Love pamphlet commercial? Why yes, yes I am. Very tired.
Right on!

If it ended right now - which of course is just not really even worth saying yet, but heck, this is why we are on here - the US wins the day 5-3 and is in good shape tomorrow. It will be interesting to see what DLIII does tomorrow; he rested every guy one session at Medinah, and said that was the plan from the beginning and no one was going to change his mind. I wonder if that is the plan again this year. Then only guys from this morning that I'd consider not throwing out tomorrow morning are Phil and Rickie, but of course they're going out again because Phil. Intriguing stuff, especially if things hold like this, or even turn bluer.

I'd have signed up for a 5-3 USA Friday this morning. It would be great if one of those blue flags turns red but if the scores hold I'd be content. A bit disappointed given the 4-0 morning, but content nonetheless.

We would all likely have taken a 5-3 result before the day started. However, an afternoon collapse by the Americans gives Europe the momentum going into tomorrow. Going to need Jordan/Reed to turn things around soon for any hope of a 2-2 afternoon

Rory and Pieters are just rolling right now. DJ watches Kooch's putt slide left and hits the exact same putt. . . .
