This is unbelievable start. If they can even just split the afternoon they are in great shape. Of course, I want them to bury their asses and put them in a 7-1 hole.
ftfyGoodness he is bad with the driver right now. You have to sit him next session so he can work on it.
I agree. Sure he and Rickie might have some momentum coming out of the morning if they're able to hold on but his work off the tee has been atrocious.Goodness he is bad with the driver right now. You almost have to sit him next session so he can work on it.
Yeah, in four ball, you want as many birdie looks as you can get, and he's not going to get a ton if he's hitting from other zip codes half the time.I agree. Sure he and Rickie might have some momentum coming out of the morning if they're able to hold on but his work off the tee has been atrocious.
He was from 80 yards and he put it further than the Walker did from 160.For those of us unable to watch, what did Sergio do?
Left it very short - gave Kaymer a long putt that he had to make - and he did not.For those of us unable to watch, what did Sergio do?
As a big fan of Greg Norman, it makes me happy to see Nick Faldo sad.Faldo seems...sad.
Cough, Cough...Afternoon US pairing predictions?
I'd go with:
Spieth/Reed
DJ/Kuchar
JB/Moore
Brooks/Sneds
Different format. DL3 needs to stick with his plan. This is nuts. Given ZJ and Walker's turnaround, does DL3 bring them back out this afternoon?
Was there the entire time. Almost caught the ball Reed threw into the crowd. That was unbelievable and one of the cooler things I've ever seen.Still at 16 green? Not a bad place to be right about now....
Awesome. Isn't it nice when random events come together and work out like that for you?Was there the entire time. Almost caught the ball Reed threw into the crowd. That was unbelievable and one of the cooler things I've ever seen.
Rolling Willet out with Kaymer is an interesting choice. But if that was the plan, I guess you do what you have to do.Clarke setting up to either look like a genius or get skewered... No Fitz at all today (he of the match-play background) and Pieters/Kaymer get 2 matches (after both looked awful) while Sullivan (who looked decent, 17 notwithstanding) sits?
We debated posting up at 17 but figured the matches might be over then. Boy were we right.Awesome. Isn't it nice when random events come together and work out like that for you?
Except... don't you change the plan on the fly a bit based on morning performances??? Still doesn't explain where Fitz is all day, and Pieters getting another go??? Bizarre.Rolling Willet out with Kaymer is an interesting choice. But if that was the plan, I guess you do what you have to do.
I might have put Kaymer back out because he's a veteran and is more likely not to re-shit the bed. But Pieters is an odd choice. I mean, can any Fitz be any worse? Or Wood?Except... don't you change the plan on the fly a bit based on morning performances??? Still doesn't explain where Fitz is all day, and Pieters getting another go??? Bizarre.
I am always hesitant to say that team captains should change their plans based on how the morning matches work out because the formats are different and the pairings were set for a reason. But if things are going sideways, change can't hurt.Rolling Willet out with Kaymer is an interesting choice. But if that was the plan, I guess you do what you have to do.
hmmmmmm.... not sure I agree with you. depends on who is playing... but I always thought pairing up a steady player with a bomber/high risk/reward player made sense. then, it kinda would be important for the first player to be in the fairway (player steady ala Furyk). Allows player 2 (ala Phil or something) to then potentially go for the riskier, but upside play.It is kind of annoying how much the announcers are going on and on about how important it is for the first guy to hit the fairway. It's important for everyone to hit the fairway. Do you think Patrick Reed tees off and thinks to himself, "Well, Jordan is in the rough, may as well drive with a 7 iron."
