Seems like both will be active; which you would think would mean that Jimmy would get the start.
If they're both equally healthy, of course. Who knows. I think Bill is being intentionally vague, and I don't think we'll really know until gametime.

If Jimmy G doesn't have full range of motion a week and a half after the injury, it's hard to imagine him playing through that on Sunday. That sounds like Jacoby to me.

edit: though Reiss's updates on ESPN now show JG throwing passes at practice, which makes it kind of hard to believe that his shoulder mobility is all that compromised... Game time decision indeed.

Jimmy G spoke to the media in the locker room today. So I'd be pretty surprised if he doesn't play.

1st and 3rd, $500k fine? That's it? Don't you think it's more probable than not that Tyrod Taylor knew that someone on the coaching staff would be breaking rules by trying to reach out to an opposing player? I want him gone for four games and for Rex and Taylor's personal cellphones to be confiscated by the league!

Look how proud he is of himself for that. You'd think he just reeled off a 9-7 season the way he's brimming.

Shouldn't there be rules against a coach from an opposing team posing as a reporter to get info from the team they are getting ready to play?
1st and a 3rd, $500k fine. Make it happen, RG
Back in the day, Al Davis did it. He supposedly went up to a Chargers player, posing as a reporter, and asked him what his strengths and weaknesses were and the guy gave him a straight answer.

Everyone who has been to grammar school knows the drill. The upside of being class clown is you get away with stuff that other people can't. One can only imagine the reaction if Belichick had done this. The downside is that when you work hard to get everyone to laugh at you all the time, they are laughing at you all the time. Nobody respects the class clown.

The funny part is that this seems like just the kind of shit Roger would like to seize on if there were some rule or other against it, since it doesn't involve real stuff like concussions.

This is clearly deception.

The league will look at that type of thing, and I'm sure that they'll make some adjustments and things like that.
What will the league look at? We have two quarterbacks who are injured during the week leading up to the game.....isn't that pretty obvious? I'm sure Belichick knows Jimmy will shoot up and be out there but it isn't required that he state this with the player coming off an injury. Unless Roger claims that he's a mind reader and knows that Bill knows I'm not sure what the point is.

He isn't shooting up the week before he has to play the game so him being out there at all right now is to me a sure sign Jimmy will be good to go once he takes a shot to alleviate the inflammation on the day of the game.

+1. Neither Belichick nor the Patriots are under any obligation to name their starting QB until Sunday. Both QB's on the roster were listed as limited, which I'm sure is correct. The league's definition of limited is pretty broad, but that's not the Patriots' problem.

Those indisputable facts will not stop some members of the mediocracy to bleat deception, Cheatriots, etc.

I've got an app called Sleeper Bot for fantasy football. It's like ProFootballTalk but just the headlines. It's saying Jimmy G is starting, and that the Browns are cutting Josh Gordon.

So there's that.

To add to this, on the Friday Roster Report podcast Perillo and Hart from PFW indicated that they were increasingly of the opinion it would be Garoppolo starting, based on what they were hearing from Mike Giardi whom they termed the best tied-in to the Garoppolo camp of the beat reporters. These guys are a fairly non-speculative bunch, so I would give this some weight.

Yep. They were showing video of him hanging on the field without tape; must've just taped him up.

I imagine we'll see a lot of base defense this week with the LBs honed in on Shady.

I wonder if Mingo gets a little work.

Poll changed to see if anyone thinks Brady should sit one more game to 1) get the rust off 2) get one more look at JG 3) increase JG's trade value

P.S. Here are the results from the last poll:
