Sick win for the Mets, down 6-4 in the 9th to the Phillies, Reyes hits a 2 run HR to tie. Down 8-6 in the 11th, Cabrera hits a 3 run HR to win. Great bat toss by Cabrera also.

So Detroit blew a 2 run lead in the 9th and lost. Seattle lost to Minnesota. And for the second night in a row, Houston's bullpen is collapsing to the Angels. These fucking teams are just handing the WC to Baltimore.
Except that Baltimore has its final seven on the road, 3 at Toronto, then 3 in the Toilet

Seattle and Houston square off to start the week, then the Astros meet the Angels again and Seattle finishes at home against Oakland

Detroit has the weirdest finish: 4 at home against Cleveland, then 3 on the road ... in Atlanta

Orioles looked dead last we saw them, or on life support. Their upcoming series vs the Jays will decide their fate.

Mets winning 17-0 against the Phillies. They close with the Marlins (who are obviously not going to be interested in playing) and then the Phillies again to end the season. Going to be tough to Mets this up.

I can't believe that I am listening to Vin Scully's last home game on the same day Jose Fernandez died. Sooooo fucking dusty in here.

And what a way to send Scully off! Walk off HR!

You could call that a Hollywood ending.

They scored 25 unanswered runs over the last two days and only went 1-1, that is tough to do.

How did Luis Severino get ejected from the NY/Tor. Game?

Wallace Matthews ESPN Staff Writer
The Yankees and Blue Jays have had two near-brawls in the first two innings tonight, precipitated by Toronto starter J.A. Happ hitting Chase Headley, which the Yankees apparently thought was retaliation for Luis Severino grazing Josh Donaldson on the elbow pad in the first. The first woof session resulted a warning to Happ and the ejection of Joe Girardi. Things really got heated when Severino clearly threw at Justin Smoak, hitting him in the hip. Severino got tossed and the two teams pushed and shoved for awhile.

WBC qualifier final on MLBN: Israel vs. Team GB
Thanks for this. I watched some of it. Israel won 9-1. Some familiar faces: Ike Davis, Lavarnway. I missed the first, so I'm not sure how many on the team were actually Israelis, and not just Jewish. Also, this was the last qualifier, so I guess we missed all the rest of them???

Diaz blows the save for SEA against HOU as they both fight for the wildcard.

Diaz has been great for them but ridden like a rented mule at times so could be some tiredness there.

Going to extras 3-3.

EDIT: Giles in for HOU after a 30 pitch, 6ER outing on Friday and a 23 pitch save yesterday.

All I can tell you is Panama failed to qualify (again) and we host the damn bracket here.

Wilson ramos tore his ACl again last night. On the cusp of free agency and more doubt WAS can win a playoff series for the first time.

Seattle just may have blown a golden chance to stay alive. One out, runners on, grounder to second. They get the force at second, shortstop throws the ball away (would have been the third out), and Houston scores 6 (with the help of another error) to take an 8-4 lead

With Felix pitching

Miguel Cabrera just hit a 3 run HR in a downpour in Detroit. Tigers now up 6-3 over Cleveland. It's only the 5th, but it's raining pretty hard. If the Jays hold on, then the Tigers could be even with Baltimore.

Moving the Line
John Jaso joined Ray Schalk as the only players to ever catch a perfect game (Hernandez for Jaso, Robertson for Schalk) and hit for the cycle. Also in the NL Central tonight, Anthony Rizzo became the first left-handed thrower to play second since Don Mattingly on 7/24/1983.
