They just gave up a 1st and 4th for Bradford. That ship has sailed.Would the Vikes pay anything for Tanny? Have to think he's an upgrade for them.

I'm pretty sure James was actually hurt. I remember him getting up slowly at the end of the game before the strip sack, which probably helps explain why he got beaten so badly on the strip sack fumble and why he was off the field in OT. He had a toe problem last year, hopefully it's not the same issue again.Cleveland missed a last second Fg to win it in regulation
James was benched on the last drive
Tannehill sucks. There is no hope he will ever be "good".
They should look to trade Wake. And Suh. And Albert. And Tannehill.
It's a bit unfair to call out Maxwell's performance and totally ignore Xavien's. Not only did he drop an absolute gimme of an interception in the 1st quarter, he wasn't even competitive in attempting to cover Pryor. Ultimately, this is what forced the coaching staff's hand on the decision to shadow Pryor with Maxwell down the stretch.I'm pretty sure James was actually hurt. All around awful effort against a bad team. Tannehill's first pick is inexcusable. He stared down his receiver and tried to force it on the slant. The pick 6 looked like he got hit as he threw it and made the pass interceptable.
The offense looks at its best running the uptempo no huddle, however when you have an 11 point lead in the 4th quarter, you have to be able to grind out first downs on the ground. I think Miami went 3 and out or maybe 4 and out on the drives when they needed to grind out the clock. They gave the ball right back to Cleveland and then the defense couldn't stop a high school level offense.
Maxwell looked absolutely toast UNLESS he was up at the line of scrimmage pressing. When he was giving Pryor a free release, he was getting scorched. They finally started pressing and he was actually making plays and knocking passes away.
I'm not sure if that's a Joseph play calling issue or Maxwell himself, but if he isn't pressing, he isn't covering.
I expect this team to get roasted Thursday night. They can't run the ball, stop the run, or pick up anything other than a 4 man rush.
And that they got Cleveland before Josh Gordon's return. Defensively they couldn't handle Pryor. Pryor and Gordon would've ripped this defense to shreds.Miami is lucky that Cleveland signed that stiff kicker instead of free agent Robbie Gould or the Browns would have won this game outright in regulation.
Basically a brand new stadium at this point. Ross dumped half a billion of his own money into it. Completely redone from the ground up. Looked good to me as well. I'd like to see them host a night game, they supposedly upgraded to HD LED lighting. Definitely a fine job by Ross and his team.I just wanted to say they did a great job with the stadium. This place used to look like a dump but after the reno it looks fantastic.
He definitely called out James.Gase today: "film don't lie. Sick of the lack of effort. Guys will be losing their jobs. Talent doesn't matter anymore."
Was directed at entire roster but answered following question about jjames.
They are going to lose 27-3 Thursday.
Seattle's O-Line is shit and the Patriots were playing full prevent with a rookie 3rd string QB?Hope y'all don't mind a survivor pool question since y'all watch this team and I don't. If MIA is so bad, how did they almost beat SEA in Seattle and have that comeback against NE?
TIA.
The shtick is getting tiring. Blaming Tannehill for all that ails this organization is whistling past the graveyard. They are going to literally be run off the field. and Tannehill will have to throws 50+ passes. 31-10 is best case. Maybe Tannehille finally gets injured this week. there is zero reason for a defense to even worry about miami running the ball. pin the ears back and go
Prevent defense:Seattle's O-Line is shit and the Patriots were playing full prevent with a rookie 3rd string QB?
Considering the Bengals couldn't really move the ball in two games against Coyle after he left them, I'm a little worried about what Vance can do to them.Either way, I hope Vance has some magic up his sleeve.
How do you see it playing out tomorrow, Rudy? Gio is going to be a nightmare for this Dolphin defense, especially in light of our LB play. Being a Thursday game (which tend to be sloppy) might work to the Dolphins advantage - keeping it close, but I'm really struggling to envision any scenario that gives the Dolphins a win.Considering the Bengals couldn't really move the ball in two games against Coyle after he left them, I'm a little worried about what Vance can do to them.
And I know this will shock you guys, but there's already some unhappiness with Coyle in his return to Cincinnati.
You would think - the line has gone up to 7.5 and moves on/off 7 are pretty significant. The Bengals' backs are also pretty much against the wall as they go to NE in two weeks so coming out of there likely 2-4 at best would be a tall task, especially given there's only two spots available between the four likely contending teams that don't win the North and West. I would also hope the short week is an advantage for the home team, but the Bengals lost by 21 to the Browns at home a couple years ago on Thursday, so yeah. How do you see it playing out tomorrow, Rudy? I appreciate it and same to you guys here. We've both reached agony in different ways recently but at least you can remember a playoff win and HOF QB play. It's hard to become a contender overnight but I really believe in this Miami coaching staff - now they just need the talent to make it look good. That said, really enjoy reading your stuff in the Bengal thread. Keep it up.
Before I respond to this, I do want to note that I share your reaction to the "Patriot prevent defense" bullshit that was initially purported by a couple local sports' radio folk (and probably others) and has somehow been perpetuated by fans. Please, go watch the 2nd Half of that game again. In typical NE fashion (which, personally, I love), the Pats attempted to step on and humiliate the Fins' offense once they got down big. They were very aggressive.
In addition, Jelani is listed as doubtful. The depth of an already bad position is going to be tested. It's not like we've been getting much above replacement-level production out of the starters. I'll be interested to see how much these absences actually hurt the LB unit.
Either way, I hope Vance has some magic up his sleeve.
Tannehill sucks but every unit on the field except P, safety and WR is awful. The dline is so overrated. The shtick is getting tiring. Blaming Tannehill for all that ails this organization is whistling past the graveyard.
Exactly. Like the kind of game where a safety wins it. Should be super fun.I kind of expect a defensive slog like most of these Thursday night games are. I think Miami can keep it close but I don't expect them to pull this out.
I figured it was only a matter of time before somebody went there. The Bengals had to be the only team to lose more than one game to Joe Philbin without beating him, right?Should be a fun game.

He got beaten badly on a stunt and basically gave his defender a free run at Tannehill. He also struggled most of the night with Dunlap 1 on 1.What the heck happened to Ja'Wuan James? His career seemed like it was trending nicely - one of the few draft picks this organization didn't botch. But he has regressed significantly this year. There was a vine floating around last night that was not a good look for him, which has since been pulled. What gives with his recent performance?
I think this just about sums it up...
On the Lebatard Show local hour they were talking to Jason Lieser, a new beat reporter for the Palm Bech Post. When they mentioned that it's been just 4 games but he already sounds defeated, this was his response...
"I'm just confused, because it's like there's this TV show that everyone watches and the acting is not great and the plot is that there isn't one and everybody still wants to watch this every week. So, I'm trying to figure that out."
Their offensive line was the worst part of their game last night, just beating out the shitty tackling. Missing 2 very good linemen (and an average one on Steen) hurts. As does missing two solid LBs that can make tackles.Well, that took long. Byron Maxwell benched in favor of....Tony Lippett
lololoolololololol. these guys are the worst. What a front office. Lippett might be the worst corner in all the nfl. and he's replacing the guy you traded for and paying $9M or whatever.
Tannenbaum and Tannehill.
Edit: Albert out as well as Misi, jenkins, steen, cameron, Pouncey and foster
and Damien williams starting at RB. either they think drake and ajayi suck or they realize this line cannot block and williams is only RB who can
Kind of similar to the McDaniels run in Denver...It's only 4 games in, but my biggest impression of the Dolphins so far this year is that Adam Gase is woefully over his head as a head coach. The on-field coaching has been dubious, and his constant ripping of his players in the press is not a good look, especially for a rookie head coach.
This has the feel of a team that is going to quit HARD in the second half.
That was my takeaway last night: week 17 just got a lot easier. They have some talented dogs -- Suh and Williams -- who will have laid down by then. It's only 4 games in, but my biggest impression of the Dolphins so far this year is that Adam Gase is woefully over his head as a head coach.
