Who knows, right? I'm curious about that too. Woodley and Rumble both set up KOs with slaps to the side of the head, which were partially blocked but opened the middle. This are unlike what Jon Jones does which is just stand with fingers out as a way to keep distance. But they are open hand with fingers pointed forward. Maybe swinging is different from keeping them there? Side of the head isn't face/eyes? They'll probably give a direction the the refs, and the refs will have an adjustment period.Does this mean no slaps? That's bullshit if it's part of the interpretation.
Dude ain't carrying me anywhere, ankle or no.Bela Karolyi approves
Third fight on the main card, probably between 11 and 12 depending on the first two fightsanyone care to guess what time the punk fight would start (eastern). there's a show i want to see tomorrow from around 10-11:30, but i'm going to punt on it if it conflicts with the punk fight, which i think it will.
But it was a hilarious kind of dumb. This is so fucking dumb
I guess it's good to be reminded that guys that don't know how to fight don't know how to fightBut it was a hilarious kind of dumb.
They really are not that different in the promotion of their events/stars.It's hilarious to see the contrast between this carny shit and the professional, legitimate sport image the UFC tries to project.

People will be making fun of Punk; but the guy wanted to do something and he worked his ass off to try and do it to the best of his ability. I never thought he was going to be very good and the result was predictable, but he did something that took a lot of balls and determination; we shouldn't make fun of someone who does that.
Hey man, the more MMA promotes its carny side, the better. That's why Pride, to me, was far and away more entertaining that the UFC. Just embrace the spectacle, the characters, the feuds and it's instantly more watchable. They really are not that different in the promotion of their events/stars.

For someone with a dodgy chin, Overeem sure was sloppy defensively. Have no clue what the gameplan was there, he was just throwing wild haymakers and the time he connected he went for the guillotine instead of looking for the finish via ground and pound. Solid work by Stipe, but I don't think he has much of a shot against a fit Cain.
Lol it takes balls to get paid probably millions to get beat up? Where can i sign up for that? They really are not that different in the promotion of their events/stars.

That's such a ridiculous oversimplification of everything. If he just wanted money he would have stuck with wrestling. Yeah, it takes courage to train for two years, recover from multiple surgeries (plus God knows how much wear and tear was already on his body) and get in the cage against a trained fighter when you know you are already going to be overmatched. When someone wants to do something and they work hard for years to achieve that goal they should be applauded, not ridiculed. It wasn't about winning and losing for Punk; it was about getting in the cage and trying his hardest and he did that.Lol it takes balls to get paid probably millions to get beat up?
