What a pivot. Two men on him and then one second later, loads of space to shoot.

And where was this version of Ramsey all year for Arsenal?

That whole sequence was incredible. Great run. Great long ball. Superb little cross. Great settle. And a phenomenal move to leave defenders in the dust. And capped by a relatively easy, but still splendid, finish.

EDIT: Anyone saying horrible defending, just consider this. That move burned THREE people at once. If it's bad defending, you might see one player play a ball poorly, but not all three top-class players all at once unless the move is superlative. This one was just that good.

Insane goal. Cruyff turn to shake three defenders.

Ramsey has been the best player on the pitch. Unfortunately, Wenger is probably watching this thinking about how he needs to keep getting chances in central midfield.

It's the Shaqiri bike and it isn't close. That was a wonderful Cruyff but the defenders had to play it like morons for it to work. The bicycle by Shaqiri was just an unbelievable bit of skill and class

Portugal continue to get undeserved breaks. Not only did they finish third to avoid the dangerous side of the bracket, now Wales' second-best player (Ramsey) is out for the semifinal, assuming Wales hold on.

No Ramsay in the semifinal. The yellow card rule is the dumbest thing ever.
It is a truly terrible rule that does nothing to stop what it purports to and only ensures that worse players see the late stages of a tournament. I hate it so much.

The second yellow card rule really puts a premium on depth, and thus helps the big teams.

It's especially stupid on qualification. Conmebol qualification is 18 games and Concacaf is 10 games, and last I checked, yellow cards don't clear until the entire qualification round is over.

I think I said it in another thread, but it used to be worse because there was no reset after the QF. They introduced the reset because players were picking up a second yellow in the SF and missing the final.

However, I think being suspended for 2 yellows in 5 games, seems a little harsh. A couple of things they could do, is make it 3 yellows before being suspended, Or have a rolling window, so you only get suspended if you pick up 2 yellows in a 3 game span, or something like that.

Portugal is in the semis without ever having led at the end of 90 minutes for the whole tournament.

I kind of like this ref. He's very much a "stay on your fucking feet" kind of guy unless the fouling player gets a major advantage.

He's a boob. He hands out cards like he's dealing blackjack to start the match, but is now treating fouls like they don't exist. At the very least, a ref has to be consistent.

Shocking that they won 3-1 and Bale had a pretty quiet game. Ramsey was immense, and he's going to sorely missed against Portugal.

Only the third time one of the Home Nations has made the final four in the European championship.
