Market value set by the Spurgeon contract, unfortunately. $5.25m is fine by me, especially at 4 years.

At least they're spending it on a good, young player. I think it's about $500k too much, but so be it. I don't hate it, but would have preferred it under $5M.

A bit too much but when you are so shallow at the blue line, can't fault it. Thank you Seids for helping to make this happen.

They still have $19mill in cap space. The Seidenberg buyout had zero effect on them signing this deal.

AAA a bit to high but I like the player, glad to see him extended. Now go get a top 2 D for the D unit

Yeah, I wish they had gotten 1 or 2 more years at that price.

Very good deal for both sides. Krug works his ass off every night and is a core player on this team now

He is a fantastic offensive player, and gets it done 5x5

Don't love it, don't hate it. The only difference between this deal and the Miller/McQuaid deals is that this one will look better with age, those two... will not.
Well that and that Krug is a legit top 4 defenseman. Kind of a big difference there.

The alternative to Krug's returning was too ugly to contemplate. Essentially market price given the term. Solid move by the B's.
