I am very happy for the Irish. Looking forward to the knockout stages. So much uncertainty, so much potential for great match up after great match up. It should be a lot of fun.

Darkhorses Poland and Switzerland face off. As both teams play a more defensive style, this could end in a boring tie *reversejinx*.
In the first act, Swiss defender Djorou was pressured from Milik and played a bad pass back to keeper Yann Sommer, who could clear only back to Milik when pressured from Lewandowski. Milik then misfired from the box above the somehow emptied goal with defenders closing in fast, although he had it on his strong (left) foot.
Poland is aggressive and dominating so far (5mins).

That outlet throw from Fabianski was just perfect. It enabled that break. Nice finish from Kuba.
I'm not sure that the Swiss have the creativity or scrappiness to recover from that. I thought 0-0 win on penalties was their score.

Grosinski dribbled right into two Swiss players, almost lost the ball and found it again right at his feet. Smart play from Lewandowski to let the ball go through to Kuba, who could finish unchallenged. He looks just calm and experienced on that finish, but with that through-the-legs, you also need some luck...But with the two defenders looking for the far corner and Yann Sommer for the near corner (and thus opening up the legs), that was really a good, but gutsy, choice. If you hit the keeper, you´re the dumbass. If you score, everybody says "easy goal!"...
And Shaqiri is just invisible through this entire tournament for Switzerland. Missing crosses, losing balls in dribblings, bad passes, shooting freekicks like Ronaldo from 30m into nomansland...he´s just playing because of his name. Bring on someone else (Embolo?), can´t be worse...
I was wondering what you shout in Polish to get your striker to dummy the cross. Was tremendous from Lewandowski.
Switzerland have created a few decent chances. Poland look really strong and composed but haven't dominated to the extent that an equalizer would shock me

Switzerland opening up, Poland with lots of room to counter, but both teams running out of gas a little bit: Poland isn´t finishing their counters and time-wasting, Switzerland isn´t threatening that much. Both are running a lot, but the last concentration is missing due to the high intensity.
