That story, and several others, come to mind today with news that Faulk has been voted as the 2016 inductee for the Patriots Hall of Fame.

Over the next 13 years, we all watched Faulk step up his game -- first under Carroll, then Bill Belichick.

As Belichick said when Faulk retired, he was a player who was at his best when the stakes were highest, and was "the gold standard in terms of teamwork, commitment, performance and winning."

I love Faulk and how he went from " I hope he doesn't fumble every time he touches the ball" to mr. Old reliable. I just reallllllly wish he never brought that weed to the lil Wayne concert.

It's great to see this, as he was always one of my favorites. I'll forever miss the direct snap to Faulk, the second most unstoppable play in football after the Brady sneak.

Everytime the Pats line up in a 3/1/1 shotgun inside the 3 yard line, I still expect them to run the direct snap play. I actually don't know why they don't, because it was fucking awesome.

They've done it a few other times although maybe not on the GL. They did it with Ridley once, they did it with James White when eventually Brady caught a TD pass. Maybe a few others I'm forgetting.

Is imagine it was in the playbook when they realized what they had in Dion Lewis last year but the early injury probably scrubbed it. Seems like lack of personnel at RB and OL last year would have turned it into a five yard loss most times.
