He will say nothing because Donovan basically claimed ignorance and I believe he will have all of his players do the same. It was a such a blatant no-call and the NBA, to its credit, will own it tomorrow. Its remarkable that the TNT crew is essentially at a loss to describe a similar situation from any of their respective careers.I love waiters. Can't wait to hear what he has to say about the play.
Agreed. I feel like Ginobili should have taken the shot. Even if he misses, decent chance of a putback.I love waiters. Can't wait to hear what he has to say about the play.
Still don't know how the spurs couldn't score on a 3 on 1 to win the game
You know you have a bad coach when he chooses Dion fucking Waiters to inbound in that situation... wtf were they thinking???My favorite part was Waiters just sitting there for 2 seconds after he made the bad pass.
That he was a better option than Adams or Obaka? Having your 2-guard inbounding to Durant/Westbrook seems pretty standard. You know you have a bad coach when he chooses Dion fucking Waiters to inbound in that situation... wtf were they thinking???
Hard to believe, but Waiters has actually been a productive player in the last two months or so. He's not as good a defender as the starting 2-guard (Roberson), but he's a better shooter. He usually plays with the four starters during crunch time. You know you have a bad coach when he chooses Dion fucking Waiters to inbound in that situation... wtf were they thinking???
Everyone on this board is a better shooter than Roberson. Waiters did make a big 3 down the stretch when the Spurs were only down 2 but he still makes so many boneheaded plays. He's basically the Thunder's JR Smith.Hard to believe, but Waiters has actually been a productive player in the last two months or so. So they only missed five different calls in that final sequence. GJGE refs.NBA's last 2 minutes report from last night http://official.nba.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2016/05/L2M-OKC-SAS-5-2-16.pdf
This caught my eye, as my rules knowledge is strongly influenced by being a former HS ref. I always assume when I misunderstand an NBA rule, it is due to different rules at that level. Regarding inbounding violations, I had to check NBA rule book recently after seeing a few cases where a Celtic ran the baseline when inbounding to open a new period. I had never noticed that before, and had not been aware it is legal.Interesting apparently despite what everyone thought the rule against leaving the playing surface doesn't mean jumping.
They admit to missing 5 calls in the last 13.5 seconds. And it probably should have been 6, because the inbounds pass took longer than 5 seconds. They admit to a total of 8 in the last 1 minutes, 31 seconds.NBA's last 2 minutes report from last night http://official.nba.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2016/05/L2M-OKC-SAS-5-2-16.pdf
They definitely owned up to the calls a lot better than the NFL would have. I'll give the NBA that much.NBA officiating is hard--the game could probably need at least one more official--and so the reports don't usually rake officials over the coals, but I think they're fair and they own up to mistakes.
Don't know about the foul thing but I agree with you that this is an easy team to love. And yeah, they need more depth to compete beyond this level. Stotts is a great coach and Lillard is a beast.Green doesn't get called for any fouls really. Hilarious how much he gets away with. Blazers just don't have the horses. As much as I love this team.
Maybe if they were Plumlee-freeDon't know about the foul thing but I agree with you that this is an easy team to love.
NBA rules do allow a player to get up from the floor with the ball. Under the college rules that is a travel.Did Wade not travel standing up after he stole the ball?
With Lowry going 10 straight games of shooting <40% from the field and 1 for his last 22 behind the arc the only chance the Raptors have are to get DeRozan the ball to create shots and get to the line.Demar DeRozan is a good talent but, man, would he infuriate me with his chucking and low bball IQ.
Yes....if you're assuming that Lowry will never snap out of his shooting slump. With Lowry going 10 straight games of shooting <40% from the field and 1 for his last 22 behind the arc the only chance the Raptors have are to get DeRozan the ball to create shots and get to the line.
It's because the league sucked this year. Warriors record chase did a great job of hiding this.So many lopsided games this postseason so far, so few where they are both competiitive and both teams are playing well. At least both game 2s out West were very entertaining, this one is already into garbage time.
Yeah, it's pretty ugly after the top 3 or 4, especially with all of the Clipper injuries. It's because the league sucked this year. Warriors record chase did a great job of hiding this.
Same thing for OKC/SA. All about the tv schedule. Definitely annoying that Spurs/OKC is on a Friday night.Time for the annual complaint about the NBA's ridiculous playoff scheduling. Why are there four days off in between games in the GSW/POR series?
They don't need him this series. I would hold him out unless absolutely necessary.Sounds like no Curry for game 3
I think ideally he gets at least one game in before the Spurs series to shake off rust, especially since they need to defend home court in games 1/2 (yes, I am disrespecting OKC here, I would love to be proven wrong). They don't need him this series. I would hold him out unless absolutely necessary.
One game would probably be a good idea. I think you're right to disrespect OKC. I expect Spurs to win 3 out of the next 4 games and possibly 3 straight.I think ideally he gets at least one game in before the Spurs series to shake off rust, especially since they need to defend home court in games 1/2 (yes, I am disrespecting OKC here, I would love to be proven wrong).
It isn't only a slump he's far from 100%. Lowry has had his shooting elbow drained at least twice in the past 6 weeks and missed the Celtics game in late March due to the injury.Yes....if you're assuming that Lowry will never snap out of his shooting slump.
Jonas made Whiteside his personal bitch in the 4th quarter and OT last night.Jonas Valanciunas is a beast. He is the reason Toronto was able to pull that game out last night. Love his game.
