That's what she said.
A place to post and talk about free agent news this off season.

-The Pacers have decided to decline Solomon Hill's option for the 2016-17 season.

Making him an unrestricted free agent.

This is very surprising to me, he was fantastic the last few weeks of the season and at that age where players can make the jump. He will get paid a decent amount, I don't understand why Indy would just renounce his rights.

I'm pretty sure Hill's option on the 2016-17 season had to have been picked up earlier in the season in November after nearly a month of received multiple DNP-CD's and coming off a year when he got an opportunity following Paul George's injury and was a pretty bad NBA player.........rather than over the final month of this season when he became a positive contributor. I'll try and find something to verify this timeline but i'm almost certain this was the case.

Edit: Wheat Hotchkiss tweeted out, Bird on not extending Solomon Hill's contract: "Like I told Solomon, the best thing ever happened to him was us putting a boot in his butt." (Hey can I source Bird for the Panda thread? LOL)

Hotchkiss wasn't very clear in his tweet as Hill's option was declined back on November 2nd per Shams.
