Ochi's more of an edge guy, no?

Charone Peake from Clemson is a WR I could see. Mitch Mathews out of BYU, too.

Kelvin Taylor, Fred's kid, as a RB option.

Three safeties who can contribute on special teams: Deon Bush of Miami, DeAndre Houston-Carson from William & Mary, and Kavon Frazier from Central Michigan

This feels a little like reprising my predictions list, so I'll add a few comments. Excluding players at positions already filled and players I think are likely to be UDFA:

DL Dean Lowry - poor man's Ty Warren - quick off the ball and uses his hands well, but can get caught playing upright
WR Devon Cajuste - big strong WR/TE hybrid
WR Trevor Davis - Pats outside WR type
LB Curt Maggitt - Medical drop. Takes on and sheds blocks well, does a good job as a pass rusher. A bit undersized for Pats system. Accused of punching a teammate who allegedly raped a girl, almost a plus in my book.
T Caleb Benenoch - Athletic tackle that should fit Scar mould
T Tyler Johnstone - Medical drop, big athletic OT. To good an athlete to go undrafted unless his knees are made of hamburger meat.
Bunch of qualified RBs:
Peyon Barber
Darius Jackson
Brandon Burks

Dean Lowry is one of my gf's best friends. Sounds like a prototypical pats guy. Hard worker. Very smart - dad's a judge. Not hugely athletic, but built himself up year by year into a formidable player.

I wonder how many picks they'll actually make today. The roster is now at 80 so there's not much room for UDFAs. Could be a few trades today.
Would think so. The chance the Patriots make 5 picks in the 6th round is pretty small. Hopefully they trade up because there are good running backs still on the board, maybe getting into the 5th round will get you Booker or Dixon if they are lucky.

Cant trade comp picks, but with what they can trade they should also consider trading into next year if they can.

Yep, 3 of the 5 can't be moved, so they are picking those ones. Guess it depends how it unfolds, but there is plenty of talent left at the RB position and who knows if Lewis will stay healthy and I would rather not see Blount again in the backfield.

Peake is actually a wideout. And throw Mitch Mathews up there as another wideout idea.

Some other guys from Jeff Howe: http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/patriots/the_blitz/2016/04/saturday_draft_board_26_players_who_could_interest_patriots

RB Jordan Howard, Indiana
WR Malcolm Mitchell, Georgia
WR Tajae Sharpe, UMass
OT Jarald Hawkins, LSU
OT Alex Lewis, Nebraska
OT Halapoulivaati Vaitai, TCU
DT Sheldon Day, Notre Dame

Not to hijack the thread, but I crack up at the boos for the ginger haired stooge.

He's nothing more than a puppet for the owners, he simply does what he is told.

If you want to boo someone, boo the owners who write the music, pick the instruments and the venue, then send out the conductor to take the blame when the orchestra sounds terrible.

Caserio mentioned that NE probably won't use all the picks. They need to leave some room for the UDFA signees, so if they could do something with the tradeable picks, they would.

Moving down in the 4th and packaging that with a 6th to grab another 5th would be great. However, I'm afraid that most (if not all) of my binkies will be gone in rounds 4 and 5 (Perkins, Vitaly, Braverman, Scooby, Cooper, Reader, Killebrew, etc.).

If they got up on stage, we would.

ESPN tells us that the majority of NFL teams have players picked in the 4th through 7th rounds. So you mean that if you group the majority of the rounds together it will be a bigger percentage of players in the league? Novel concept.

Oh man, draft picks being announced from other countries. Officially jumped the shark.

This is one of those just because you have the ability to do something doesn't mean you should do it. This is a horrible product the worldwide leader is pumping out

Absolutely sucks for Cook. Drop like a rock then go to a place you have no chance of playing

I don't believe that tweet from Rap. Nick Caserio said last night they were on the phone about to hand their pick in at 61 when NO called at the last minute to trade.
Both could be true. They "would" have taken Smith, but the Cowboys did much earlier in the second. So, the Patriots had time to come up with someone to pick there before deciding to trade out.

Although, I tend to believe Reiss (and others) who suggest that part of the plan from the start was to get a fourth round pick, and use one of the seconds to do so
