Do you folks ever golf anywhere affordable?

I recently picked sticks back up after 20 years...I'm not worried about how much I will suck (and I will), but I'm not paying $75 to suck, even though I like many of you guys. Some of us went to public school you know.
If you live on the cape now, good luck.

Check out Sandwich Hollows, Brookside, Falmouth CC and Cape Cod CC.

All should be affordable and near you.

Already planning on hitting Falmouth cc this week. That's exactly the kind of value I mean. I'll check out the other suggestions too, thanks guys.

Edit: I've had some offers to help out with the grounds crew in the summer on some really nice courses (hockey can lead to great relationships). I can't do it this summer, but in the future, that's a prime gig for some spare scratch and some access to swanky clubs.

Not even sure. I knew i couldn't this summer so i didn't ask for details. I know my buddy who I've coached against manages a course in Sandwich and the other guyis involved with a place in new seabury, so I'm sure at least that one is nice.

edit: too much use of the word swanky.

Sandwich Hollows is the best value on Cape for golf.
Brookside twilight rate beats it I think, but I love Samdwich Hollows for a cheap fun course. There are some great holes there.

Bay Pointe in Onset is a good value as well, it's tucked away but has some very fun holes including an awesome island green par 3.

Shitty course though.
Eh. There are much worse around here.

If it's the Ridge Club and New Seabury, those are 2 of the nicest courses I've ever played. My 2 best friends each got married (to different women, not each other, not that there's anything wrong with that) at those two courses. I got to the play the morning of each wedding, they are awesome courses. I like New Seabury better myself, although Bobby Orr lives and frequently plays at the Ridge Club.

And then a prom at night. Are we sure he wasn't lurking in a bush someplace?

Good times as always gents. Maybe a welcome back kenneycb invitational in June at some point? Or something May-ish.

Great time guys . Sorry for having to head out so quickly: Senior enjoyed himself and appreciated the invite ... And proved that he still doesn't get to play from the senior tees

I'm moving back sometime in mid-June. I think. Well, sometime before mid-August. Calendar will be pretty much wide open for those two months.

And I've played with him there ;)

The ridge club is nice, but I wouldn't say one of the nicest I've ever played.

I grew up on Sandwich Hollows, so I despise it and can't give it a rational rating. Although golf in Ohio blows away golf in New England, so I'm a bit spoiled now.
Only hole I despise at SH is that 500 yard hole on the back nine that is all uphill off the tee. Terrible. Otherwise it's about what I expect for a municipal course.

Nope, the course is fairly open. A little trouble here and there but I played my round yesterday with the same ball. And I'm not that good.

Am I supposed to get an alert when you @ me? I did not.

I'm not in this time, wife has to work a rare saturday so i've got the kids.

As I believe I've mentioned I've picked the sticks back up after 20 years. I can pretty consistently (and straight) hit my 9 ~100 yards, my 7 ~150. That's it. It will not be pretty when I do join.

Hell I'll actually be in Boston that weekend but I should probably spend it with my girlfriend before I leave for a month instead of my internet friends. Sorry.

If my kids were a bit older I'd bring them. They're used to seeing me drunk and failing at things.

1.5 and 3 ain't going to cut it though. My son would actually probably be okay, but the girl would be hitting people with clubs and trying to climb into water hazards.

5 is awkward, I'll skip this one and sleep in and work on my honeydew list and play video games and productive things like that.

Any times available earlier? Might have a mother's day dinner. Otherwise I can do 11 and then hustle out of there after.

Just got word that I am coming off the season ticket waiting list this year. Don't have interest in going to a full slate of games, likely only want 18-20 for myself, so if anyone is looking to grab 5-10 games in the upcoming season, drop me a DM.
