A Scud Away from Hell
It's the annual SoSH draft predictions time. The rules are simple. Name top 3 things you predict will happen. Bring out your inner Kiper, McShay, or our own ITP.

Feel free to add bonus predictions, but more interesting predictions are better (i.e., predicting that the first two picks will be QBs is boring. Predicting one of the top 2 picks will NOT be a QB is not boring.)

I'll get the ball rolling with mine:
  1. Five QBs will be gone in round 1
  2. Jaylen Smith will not be drafted until Day 3 (rounds 4-7)
  3. NE will not draft a player from Rutgers, Florida, nor Alabama
Bonus:
  • NE will trade one of the second round picks AND one of the third round picks
  • WR Daniel Braverman will be over-drafted in round 2 and not by the Pats
  • NE will draft another safety with one of his first four picks, despite the roster crunch
  • Bills, Jets, and the Phins will all draft a QB in the first two rounds
  • Browns will lead the league in the number of draft-day trades
Lurkers: if you win the contest, a shiny new SoSH membership awaits you.

This is a great one. "OMG the Ravens picked a good player with a high pick. Ozzie just knows who to do this."

deep inside Guido territory
1. Vikings trade Adrian Peterson and their 1st round pick to the Cowboys for the #4 pick and draft Elliot.
2. Lions draft Treadwell to replace Calvin Johnson.
3. Victor Ochi gets drafted on Day 3 for the first ever Stony Brook player taken.
4. Leonard Floyd gets drafted before Joey Bosa.
5. Saints draft Paxton Lynch at 12 to be the Drew Brees replacement.
6. Jets trade for Colin Kaepernick

Patriots Bold Predictions
1. Patriots trade #61 and Danny Amendola for Jamaal Charles.
2. Trade up in the 2nd round for A'Shawn Robinson.
3. Take Duke SS Jeremy Cash with #96.

Pittsburgh takes a DB.
Paxton Lynch doesn't make it to the Jets at 20.
3 Offensive Linemen in the Top 10.

--------
Browns trade down from 8.
Pats trade one of their 3rds to fill in the gaps in rounds 4 and 5.
Pats look to move one of the seconds into next year.
ESPN embarrasses themselves compared to NFLN coverage.

1. The Pats 1st round pick is an absolute nobody.
2. The Pats draft someone in the 2nd or 3rd round that makes everyone here go, "HUH!?!?"
3. BB will make at least 2 trades during the draft.

  • Patriots take an ACL-injured running back on Day 3, writers ask some hybrid of "did we learn nothing by cutting Easley?" and "he's just like Dion Lewis!"
  • Broncos and Browns swap first round spots
---------------------------
  • Eagles trade back in Draft Day (movie) fashion.

1. Patriots trade #61 and Danny Amendola for Jamaal Charles.
That is terrifying.

1) BB appears live on national Tv on day 1 - at the Celtics game.
2) The Patriots first pick is between 41 and 47 and is over 300 lbs.
3) Before every Patriots pick on day 3, ESPN asks "Is this where they draft a QB?" to remind the viewers that the NFL won the lawsuit.

1. Patriots trade 60 to Dallas (who select Christian Hackenburg) for a 2018 first (that pick ends up in top 10)
2. Indianapolis, Baltimore, Denver, or the Jets draft Keenan Reynolds earlier than expected to stick it to the Pats. Cut him in camp and then he signs with Pats and beats that team (Indy only an option in the playoffs) with a kick return TD.
3. Noah Spence gets drafted in the 1st round

I want to add another prediction. The Patriots trade up to the 50th pick (the Falcons). They seem like a good trade partner based on how their picks are stacked up.

The Pats trade out of the second round completely to stockpile 3rd and 4th rounders (Everyone's head explodes)
The Pats have a guy with a 1st round grade drop to them at 60 and don't take him in favor of a guy with a 6th round grade
BB trades Hightower for a 1st round pick
Amendola gets traded for a 4th rounder
Patriots trade picks for a WR already on someone's roster

Joey Bosa drops to the middle of the 1st
Jalen Ramsey is the only "safety" taken in the 1st
Hunter Henry is not the first TE taken

Michael Floyd gets traded on day two for a pick.
Pats circumvent the first round restriction by trading for a player drafted by another team in the first round.
The best QB of this draft will be taken post-first round (obviously this is a long-term prediction)

Obviously these are post-Day One predictions:

1) Keenan Reynolds to Patriots in the 6th
2) BB trades up with one of the 2nd rounders and the trade-able 3rd rounder to the top half of the 2nd round
3) Patriots draft Scooby Wright III in the 5th (some trade to get there)

1. Seahawks trade out of the first round. NAILED IT
2. At least 3 trades on Thursday for 1st round picks NAILED IT
3. Only the top 2 spots in the draft go to QBs in the first round. Damn, I was close. Fucking Elway
4. Some team fucks up and lets the clock run out, allowing another team to jump ahead of them Still could happen
5. Johnny Manziel shows up drunk to the draft and creates a scene. He needs to jump in a car or plane and get there, but it still could happen. Looked like he could have already been drunk in the pic in the day 1 thread
6. Roger Goodell gets cheers at the draft for the first time ever because he brought the draft to Chicago. I missed the initial address because NFLN was rambling on, so I don't know if Roger got booed initially.
7. Mel Kiper Jr. gets a hair out of place Not watching ESPN so I don't know, but I didn't really expect this to happen
Nice start with some long shots still on the board.
