Ahh - just read the foul summary. Ingram and Plumlee fouled out, becasue we have no depth with Jefferson out. There ya go.

Would be sweet if Sean Obi wasn't a waste of oxygen

I would say this is a must win game for Duke lest things spiral out of control a la duke football after a tough loss. Last 3 games duke lost by a combined 11 points. Even though a road game State sucks.

About two weeks ago I thought we would coast to about 10-0 in the conference and top 5 in the country and a double bye in the ACC tourney. Now we are fighting for our lives.

We play 6 players, have a point guard who should be a senior in high school, our main big man is going into the Army after this year, our other upperclassmen are either hurt or role players, and defenses can just key on Grayson. Ingram will get his because he's such a mismatch, but it's not pretty.

Get Jefferson back and all will be well.

Not sure we "found" anything today, but it was nice to see them come back like that today. They'll be pretty good with Jefferson back, a tough out. Sweet 16 team IMO.

If they a) stay out of foul trouble and b) shoot ok, then they are a good team.

If either of a) or b) fails, they are mediocre

Getting Jefferson back removes a) from the equation

Another big game tonight (although they're all big at this point) - @ a ranked Miami. Duke's holding on to the top 25 by the skin of their teeth - you just know voters will look for any reason to kick them out, they need to make up some ground in the polls (after Mia, they play GT, NC St again) before they run into 4 ranked teams in a row (LOU, UVA, UNC, LOU) so they have some breathing room.

At Miami is always a tough time, but I wasn't particularly impressed by Miami when I watched them against UVA (admittedly my only time this year I've seen them). This Duke team is just too thin up front to compete in this one though, so I do think it probably goes to the Canes tonight.

Virginia with an absolutely miraculous win (or maybe more acurately Wake with an absolutely miraculous loss).

UVA was down ten with 1:18 to go and down seven with 19 seconds to go and won 72-71 on a banked in three at the gun.

i mean, this year is a direct follow from winning the national championship last year. if they didnt win, justise and tyus probably stay, and this is a top 5 team in the country. ill take a down year after a natty.

Ga Tech is a bad team. This feels like a must win in order to tread water until Jefferson gets back.

Yup win tonight and against State on Saturday and we'll be fine. May even rally for a win over Louisville but doubtful - have lost last two games with only one day rest due to lack of depth

Yeah no. L'ville has some serious size, which is where we get into foul trouble.

They really bothered Carolina's bigs last night on both ends of the floor, which is something nobody had been able to do so far this year. I came away very impressed with them as a team and stunned they got pantsed by Virginia so badly.

Duke looks primed for a run now that the main problem has been eliminated. In other news, Marshall Plumlee is totally Zoubek'ing this season.

IMG_5408.JPG Solid crowd aside from the last few minutes when the Crazies were still focused on the dude fouling out instead of the actual game. Back in my day we would have chanted "you're not worth it" and moved on to other things. Get off my lawn.

During the big spurt in the first half capped by the Allen dunk, K got the crowd fired up - he turned around and was like "what the fuck" - it was hilarious. He wanted more noise.

Here was my view today

Gutsy win last night. This team still lacks the depth to make a deep run, but they have a unique setup right now with three guys who can drive, dish, and shoot and put a lot of pressure on defenses that way. Ingram is a nightmare to defend with his length and is really coming into his own in terms of confidence as well.

I'm tempted to swing down for the UVA game this weekend but flights are a little more than I'd like to spend on short notice. My parents said yesterday's atmosphere was one of the best non-UNC games they've ever been too.

Why not? Carolina looks like it quit playing hard about six weeks ago.

Starting to remind me of 00-01 when they were #1 at 18-2 and went 8-5 to close.
