Why the fuck would you try to block that kick? Forcing ND to FG attempts is already a win. God I hate Addazio.

Sherman Alston is so fucking bad. Special teams with 3 huge blunders.
Is it his fault of the coach who keeps putting a return man who's muffed 6 kicks this year?

Either way, better chance of scoring on defense. Great play there by the defense.

I hate Addazio more than anybody. But Alston is still choking on his 1 role on this team.

Just fuck me with this team. Every incredible play the defense makes just makes me want to cry a little bit more.

Go throwback and play the D both ways in the second half. At least the D backs and Strachan. JK.

He should be unemployed. His boss is a coward who thinks Howard is a legitimate opponent, they deserve each other. Damn I wish Don Brown would take a swing at Daz.

If they even had the 60th ranked offense they would have about 6 wins and would be winning this game. But they are the 126th ranked offense and 5 turnovers can't even help generate points.

This is unbelievably painful to watch on so many levels.

Fucking stupid. A ridiculously winnable game disguised as a great comeback falling just short. Really poor effort from the coaching staff not named Don Brown.

Fuck Notre Dame to the moon and back. It's going to take a long time to wash the vomit out of my mouth from seeing Fenway so thoroughly and enthusiastically whored out to these assholes.

Any half decent team would have kicked the shit out of ND tonight. There is no way this team is top 4 in the country.

Okay, but then you have to name 4 teams that are better
ND doesn't have a single win against a quality opponent. Their "best" win was to a 7-4 USC that just got pasted by a mediocre Oregon squad.

I would gladly take Clemson, Bama, Ohio State, Michigan State, one of the Oklahoman teams, and, shit, Michigan who would be right in the thick of things were it not for a fluke play.

Clemson, Alabama, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Iowa, and Ohio State are all better than ND.
You could be right, but the comment above referenced notre Dames lack of quality wins. Who has Iowa beat? What about Ohio state or Oklahoma state. Notre dames wins and overall schedule is better than those teams.

If the argument is that notre dame isn't one of the best 4 teams in the country, I probably agree. However, as of today, they deserve to be in the top 4, and if they beat Stanford they deserve to finish there.

Iowa is undefeated but probably still won't crack the top 4 for now. Neither will Oklahoma State. And when the new rankings come out, I think Ohio State will be on the outside looking in as well. ND belongs with those teams.

Michigan State and Oklahoma should push ND and Ohio State out of the top 4 this week. The Iowa v Michigan State game will be huge for Michigan State holding that spot or Iowa taking it.

how do you feel if you're a BC defensive player and the last feature article of the season in the Globe is about louie Addazio. Daz should have nixed this.

This is the kind of crap that wrecks morale on a team having a lousy season full of injuries. how bout featuring one of the seniors who came back and played a full season like Mehdi Abdesmad or Stephen Daniels.

Come on Louis is the heart and soul of this team. Remember that fumble that he recovered in the endzone, of course it wasn't ruled a fumble, but still that is Louis highlight film.

Assuming Daz stays one of this big goals over the next 5 years will be to start fast tracking Louis for his career. He'll have a staff position by 2018

2 horrible teams playing out the string. I think I'll hit the mall.
No doubt about it. They are both living up to the hype. BC with 80 yards rushing , 0 yards passing, and 89 yards penalized in the first half.

Cuse is only slightly better with 100 yards offense and 50 yards penalized.

Forced to watch the whole game since I am visiting the in-laws near Syracuse. What an abomination. In addition to just being shitty, the games are unwatchable.

Is the TE related to the coach? And if so, is he any good?
up in the comfortable uncrowded wide open spaces of section QQ we call young Louie Adazzio "Flounder" since he is both a Legacy and Closet Case, like Kent and Fred Dorfman

ok now that our nightmare has ended the question comes up do we fire Adazzio, ain't happening since Bates gave him an extension till '20 last year and I think the Notre Dame (HS Hingham) Volleyball Superfan's money comes of the books this year, Leahey and the sports hating Board of Trustees aren't doing another buyout/payoff..

Daz could be the worst game day coach of all time, from what I've heard, he is great during the week and very good on the recruiting trail, yet looses his fucking mind on Saturdays, the unsportsmanlike pentaly vs ND and clock mgt thru the 3 years are examples A and B.. the incoming recruiting class is supposedly strong, and hopefuly once some of the young OLineman (Lindstrom playing guard at 255?) bulk up at training table / weight room mmaybe theyll be room to grow.

now in terms of getting the axe, OC Todd Fitch should have his ass out the door now then the question is who'd come in, Paul Petersen please come home

The house cleaning starts today. Now he needs to clear out the offensive coaching staff, hire an OC and let him actually devise and run an offense. I think you'll see a lot of 5th years being let go as well and look for a lot of recruiting for 5th yr transfers, especially at QB, OL, TE and on defense. Not sure he'll get all those positions but that is where he needs to look for immediate help. My concern is he loses Don Brown and the D regresses. Will be a ton of D1 coaching positions open in the offseason and Brown will be a popular guy for either as a low level HC job or a coordinator on a P5 program looking to get over the top.

As for the QB spot, how would you rank them on the depth chart? Is it Wade, Fadule then Smith? None give me confidence thay can lead an O in the very near future, and some I question if they can at all.

The three year Addazio review by the numbers:

Overall: 17-21 (.447 winning pct)
Record v FBS: 13-21 (.382 winning pct.)
Record v P5: 9-20 (.310 winning pct.)
Record v Ranked teams: 1-5 (v. #9 USC in 2014)
Comeback wins (when trailing at the half v. FBS only): 1- v. Va Tech in 2013. All other wins they were either tied or leading at the half. They also had a comeback v. Villanova in 2013, they were down 14-7 at the half in that game.
Bowl Record: 0-2

In the second half of each of the last three seasons (game #7-end) their record is:
2013: 4-3;
2014: 3-4;
2015: 0-6
Overall: 7-13 (.350 winning pct)

-Looks very Spaz like I'm afraid.

To say it is bad is an understatement. I am really disappointed as I truly thought he would take the program back to the Jags level or at least be 8-4 and knock off 1-2 ranked teams a year. Instead, in year 3, the program has regressed. Not very optimistic anymore fellas. I look at the program and I see players who are not very good playing a schedule that is crappy save for the games the ACC gives it. A blowhard coach who is full of cliches but can't manage a clock or put together a reasonable O game plan and a weak AD IMHO. 2016 and 2017 brings one P5 school back on the OOC schedule (ND) but we get to play UMass and Holy Cross in 2018. It's back to future, circa 1969. All we need is VMI for the homecoming game. Ugh.

Also lost true freshman RB Gowins. Glad we haven't recruited any RBs this year. Also a lot of rumors about coaches leaving. No idea who there.

This season is exactly why I've been calling Daz a fraud for months. The guy is a jackass with a caveman's intelligence.

Bates keeps it coming with the OOC schedule by adding a game against Ohio at BC in 2020! Can't wait!
This is why I consider him a weak AD. He has yet to schedule ANY P5 opponent except for tOSU which will occur in the mid 20's. He has morphed this athletic department, in 4 years , into his old job, that is Miami of Ohio...a MAC program. Let;s face it that's really what this program has turned into, Miami (OH) of the Northeast. A strong academic school, with a pedestrian football and basketball program along with a high end hockey program. When you talk about house cleaning, I think we need to look at the AD as well. He has swung and missed on the football coach, from an outsider like me, it doesn't look great with the basketball coach...(losing to Santa Clara was pretty bad fellas) and he cannot schedule football opponents. It is very disturbing to see what has happened to this school's athletic program, at least as it relates to the revenue producing sports.

In the I'm starting to lose faith in Bates dept: Michigan interim AD stepping down, Bates will be considered but one huge roadblock

Company leading search has the one and greasy Gene DiFlippo as a principal, watch the bitter little asshole sink Bates
