Starting a new thread, but mainly to post that UMass pulled in Tulane and Mississippi State for 2016 home games. They were much needed games, as they need five home games total, 4 vs FBS, and these two game fulfill that latter requirement for 2016. The fifth game will probably be against an FCS team in New England. (they play away to Hawaii in 2016 so they can actually add two games to the 11 already scheduled)

Both games are at Gillette. The Tulane series is home-and-home, return game in 2022, the Miss St series is 2-for-1, with trips to Starkvegas in 2017 and 2020.

I for one am excited about this season. We may have a .500 record! Even perhaps winning, should things fall right.

I have seen us (yes, us, the only people who are gonna give a shit about this team on this board went to one of the Umass schools, if not Amherst itself) picked first in the MAC East on both ESPN and the Cleveland Plain Dealer website. Thats something right?

I think we can beat CU out in Boulder this weekend and greatly hope we do.

I am probably going to the Temple game down in Gillette and it would be nice to go to a game with us already having a win.

UMass has found some remarkably inventive ways to lose, and this one must have been tough to watch.

Apparently UMass scored with 80 seconds to play to go up 23-20,  and had the extra point blocked and returned for a TD to make it 23-22, and then Temple drove down for the game winning FG

I turned the game on just to see Umass score and then promptly find a ingenious was to fuck everything up.

I keep trying to keep the faith and be positive because this team needs a lot of support. Somebody has to fucking care dammit.

Games like this make me wonder why I bother.

It was tough to watch, but the vibe in my section was "it's over", after the blocked PAT. So disappointing, yet I thought going into the game that they'd get blown out. So, I guess it's an improvement in that regard.

Me and some buddies are heading to South Bend for the game this weekend. At this point, stay healthy and try to keep it competitive for the 1st half. The FIU game on 10/3 at McGuirk is a must win.

Awesome game so far. Win or lose UMass is looking really good on national television.

Can't be anything but good for the program so long as they can hang in there.
Well UConn actually won in Sourh Bend, and look where it got them.

Well that turned ugly pretty quickly after it was 21-20. But UMass is certainly better than their 0-3 record and the schedule gets a little easier from here. Need to beat FIU next week at home.

Alright, first win is in the books. Defense played well and it was nice to see a more balanced attack on offense.

We certainly left some points out there, but it was great to see the defense bail out the offense. Only 188 total yards of offense by FIU.

Inexplicably up 28-10 at the half against #22 Toledo.

Threw a pick on the 1 yard line at the end of the half which they returned to the 18, but somehow did not score. That was the part that should have backfired on us.

Hope we can hold on. Would be a big win.

^ So true, especially the last two years. However, what a great win yesterday. Happy for the seniors. Frustrated, though, because Young should've been getting 20+ carries per game all year. He's going to be special. Huge offseason for Whipple and his staff.

Good way to go out of the MAC; spoiling Buffalo's bowl hopes. Glad Young is only a freshman, should be the centerpiece of this offense going forward. We'll see what independent football brings, the next two years are very crucial for the future of this program.
