2024 Lineup (What we actually have - no trade speculation.)

It's still very early in the season, and Seattle and Oakland are tougher offensive ballparks, but the Sox are off to a subpar start. 29 runs through 7 games translates to a 671 run pace. In 3 of 7 games, the offense hasn't been able to put up 4 runs. If this persists deeper into the...

Championship Weekend: Chiefs @ Ravens, Lions @ 49ers

We all appreciate how disappointing this past Pats season was, but a personal cheap shot like this is really uncalled for. Your post was really disrespectful ... to dogs.

    Jack Jones cut

Good thing that he's going to a market that presents very few off-the-field distractions. He can spend his downtime completely ensconced in the sanctuary of prayer, self-reflection and intellectual inquiry.

This is now: BB and the direction of the Patriots

Maybe we need to stop drafting QB's with the 15th overall pick ...

De Panzer continues Week 10 vs Colts

What evidence do you have that he's "a good kid"?

How does the rest of the season play out?

I think the season will play out even worse than we expect with the Belichick Pats going 6-2, thereby insulating Belichick the GM from having to take any medicine. 1. Jetlagged Colts in Frankfurt 2. Hapless Giants 3. BB will flummox Herbert 4. BB always beats Tomlin 5. Hapless Broncos 6. BB...

The Michael McCorkle "Mac" Jones Thread

Asking the question because I'm genuinely curious. Would most NFL QB's look like that at the release point? Seems a little flat-footed to me, but I'm far from an expert on QB mechanics.

The Michael McCorkle "Mac" Jones Thread

Could not agree more with this post. I'm not necessarily attributing this view to the BaseballJones per se, but the notion of being unwilling to try something new or to do things differently because "things could be worse" is the calling card of self-induced mediocrity or worse. I had friends...

The Michael McCorkle "Mac" Jones Thread

It's also possible to envision an improvement in the form of better on-field demeanor and less distractions (e.g., cheap shots) with the same caliber of QB play. I don't think meeting that bar will be exceptionally difficult. Mac is a fungible asset.

The Michael McCorkle "Mac" Jones Thread

It also sounded like he said "yeah" when asked if Mac would start next week, but I'm not 100% sure.

The Michael McCorkle "Mac" Jones Thread

In Mac's 35 starts, the Pats have averaged just under 21 offensive points per game (with a median of 18.5). This includes 54, 45 and 50 point showings in Mac's rookie year versus the Jets, Browns and Jaguars. Since the offseason after Mac's rookie year (his last 18 starts), the Pats have...

    Week 4--Pats @ Cowboys

Patriots are 4-18 in games started by Mac where the opponent scores 17 points or more. That pretty much says it all.

    Week 4--Pats @ Cowboys

It's self-evident and has everything to do with the not-so-decent year in 2022. Kraft gave Mac a public vote of confidence in the offseason and invited him to his private summer party after Mac played like sh!t and was openly disrespectful to his coaches. Belichick didn't attend that party...

    Week 4--Pats @ Cowboys

He's also immensely unlikeable. Too many dubious incidents involving alleged cheap shots. Lack of poise on the sidelines. Entitlement. But Bob Kraft should take a long, hard look in the mirror. He's enabled this.

    Week 4--Pats @ Cowboys

They're hardly blameless here with the special treatment they've afforded Mac (e.g., summer party invite, public vote of confidence) after he was disrespectful to his coaching staff last year.
