    Offseason rumors

I'm sure he doesn't. He's going to get more than $6.5M from someone. Possibly by a lot.

NFL Playoffs; How would you like it to shake out?

As a lifelong Browns fan who has watched the games with 100s of other Browns fans, I can say for a fact this is unequivocally false. Browns fans of any age root for laundry. We've had many "end of career" players from rivals like Joe Flacco, Jamal Lewis, etc who killed us for a decade before...

    Offseason rumors

1000% yes. He only opts out of he is good. If he sucks, you pay him for 100% of that contract. You give away all upside and keep the downside with opt outs.

    Offseason rumors

Big difference between 25 and 29 when talking about a long term contract for a SP. The Yankees will have Cole signed until he's 39.

Justin Slaten acquired from Mets (minor+ move)

If you acquire their rights from their original team, that's true. Not when you acquire them from the team that drafted him.

Your top "forgot he was a Red Sox"

Charles Johnson had an AAV lower than his contract, so at the end of the day, the Sox saved a little over a million on the luxury cap (important to them at that time) and the Rockies received a player they wanted. Win-win for both teams.

    Julio Lugo has passed away

Boston traded him for Chris Duncan, who sadly has also passed away in 2019 from brain cancer.

    2019-20 Offseason Discussion

A player's AAV doesnt change, unless his actual contract does. Myers signed a 6 year, $83M contract so his AAV is $13.83M each of the 6 years. If a team sends cash along with a player to pay his contract, they take a cap hit for 100% of that amount each year. If a team receives cash, they...

Pedroia has "significant setback with his left knee"

This is correct. If he retires he walks away from the money. Most likely scenario is Boston places him on the 60 day IL. Pedroia gets his money; Boston gets a 40 man roster spot back.

Players traded mid-season aren't eligible for a Qualifying Offer. Thus, we cant make one to Eovaldi.

World Series 2018--Red Sox vs. Dodgers

That's not a problem during the regular season, but its a bigger problem in the playoffs. The league has to approve removing someone from the roster after a review by an independent doctor. So if Pom pitches 4 innings in gamed 4 and then the Sox try to take him off the roster with "shoulder...

Have you ever seen an MLB no-hitter in person? (If not, how close have you come?)

The first major league game I ever attended turned out to be Matt Young's unofficial no hitter in Cleveland. He threw 8 no hit innings and didnt get a chance to finish it off since the Indians didnt have to bat in the bottom of the 9th.
