No…Phoenix’s big score here is Nurkic. Jrue to Portland. Ok then.I assume Portland gets Ayton and Jrue goes on to Phoenix?
Nurkic is an upgrade IMO over Ayton. No…Phoenix’s big score here is Nurkic. Jrue to Portland. Ok then.
Yeah, the defense is significantly better for Nurkic, not that he’s anything to write home about. Pretty average on that end. I’m not sure he’s an upgrade, but probably worth a shot. They need more defense, plus they add a bit of depth.Nurkic is an upgrade IMO over Ayton.
Yeah in the same way that the original Holiday trade was more about Giannias than about Jrue. They somehow got even older with this move: Lillard and Holiday were born a month apart, but they also give up Grayson Allen in this deal. For all his flaws, he was one of only 3 players in the Bucks playoff rotation under 30 last year (along with Giannis and Portis). My guess this is more about Giannis than it is about Dame.
This dude cant stay healthy. He'll fit right in with Beal and Durant.Nurkic is an upgrade IMO over Ayton.
If it's not, his reputation completely evaporates. The Bucks are already a title team and were already 3rd in the odds to win this year (behind Denver and Boston, tied with Phoenix). If he no shows, his career is basically over.So I'm assuming all the media smoke about Lillard not reporting if he goes anywhere but Miami is going to end up bullshit, right?
Shades of the TCMThis is hilarious. "Miami only!" OK you go to Milwaukee.
Rob, Brogdon, and picks. Make it happen, Theo.If I were Brad, I would immediately reach out to Portland to try to get Jrue Holiday to Boston.
Rob, why Rob?Rob, Brogdon, and picks. Make it happen, Theo.
Dame vs Holiday is interesting. Holiday is THE defensive guard in the NBA and rarely makes mistakes, a hugely underrated player and a great guy to have in the playoffs. Dame obviously is an incredible offensive player that is one of the most explosive scorers in NBA history--but the gap isn't that big and there is a world where Milwaukee is worse.
Holiday is incredible defensively but he's getting old, and man is he a fucking DRAG offensively in the playoffs. His playoff TS% with the Bucks is .476 in a solid half season size sample of 40 games, total garbage. For some perspective the last playoff rotation player for the Celtics to have a .476 TS% or worse in a single postseason was Pritchard in 2021 (.475 in the one series against the Nets). Before that, it was Rozier in 2019 (.439 in 9 games). Holiday averaged that as the 2nd or 3rd option, always facing single coverage. He has his regular season moments, but in the playoffs he's basically turned into Marcus Smart, if Smart took 18 shots a game. This is a massive, massive improvement for the Bucks. If I were Brad, I would immediately reach out to Portland to try to get Jrue Holiday to Boston.
The beaches on Lake Michigan are....very similar to those in Miami. This is hilarious. "Miami only!" OK you go to Milwaukee.
Why wouldn't Miami just take Jrue? They need a PG and he's a good fit.Is there a Jrue to Philly Harden to Miami picks to Portland deal that’s workable?
I know I know….Heat culture and Harden.
Milwaukee has beaches too! This is hilarious. "Miami only!" OK you go to Milwaukee.
Yes!Ummm, I’m glad we don’t need to play Jrue Holiday
Ah, fuck. Why wouldn't Miami just take Jrue? They need a PG and he's a good fit.
Agreed, he's a better version of Lowry (who is an excellent fit there, just a couple years too old). Why wouldn't Miami just take Jrue? They need a PG and he's a good fit.
I was in Michiana this summer. Real salt of the earth people. Lots of "Fuck your feelings" tee shirts. Beautiful beaches.Milwaukee has beaches too!
