There's are two very specific numbers floating around on Twitter. 58M and 70M. Scuttlebutt is that he may have a release clause around 60M which Liverpool would trigger.I would have to think the price tag for him is going to minimum 60 million, and should be more. Which isn't a bad flip for Palace since they bought him for 28, and added Jefferson Lerma on a free.
Hungary is definitely a world leader in names and monetary facial hair. The Athletic argues that it’s not the size of Szobo’s feet, but the motion of the boots that make him so good. Lots of fun info in this piece, including his father’s name - Zsolt. What a magnificent name.
I’d do that in a heartbeat. I love me some Mo. his is the only LFC shirt I’ve owned. But he’s on the wrong side of 30 now. £150m for that? Done.Buzz today that Al- Ittihad will make a ~£130m bid for Salah. I don’t think that gets LFC to the table - but up that north of £150m and I think they’d have to listen.
I have an issue with the DOGSO rule (If Isak was so free to run on goal, how did he get fouled in the first place?) but I'm fine with the red card. It is the rule. I think an additional match ban would be kind of ridiculous. But then again, I have no idea what VVD actually said or did. We will see.Virgil van Dijk has been charged with acting in an improper manner in the aftermath of being shown a red card at Newcastle on Sunday.
The Liverpool captain was dismissed for a foul on Alexander Isak in the first half of his side’s 2-1 victory at St James’ Park but the centre-back initially refused to leave the pitch and then remonstrated with the referee, John Brooks.
The red card earned him an automatic one-match ban against Aston Villa this Sunday but the suspension could be increased, which could force him to sit out the trip to Wolves the following weekend.
I think it may stem from his initial reluctance to leave the pitch. On the other hand he’s the captain and he could argue he had the right to continue disputing the red card.Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk charged by FA over reaction to red card at Newcastle

If my amateur lip-reading skills are any good, he pointed his finger at the ref’s face a couple of times and said, “You’re a fucking joke.”Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk charged by FA over reaction to red card at Newcastle

Well - two things - one he’s been in their mid shortlist all summer so they clearly are interested. And, if they’re negotiating then one assumes it’s just haggling over the price. Supposedly LFC’s initial evaluation was £30mFor so long Bayern were great at snapping up young talent and developing them into fantastic players. But now they’re bailing on young’uns and collecting high priced vets.
Their loss, Liverpool’s gain? Gravenbach is not a 6, but he’s young and has a huge, athletic frame (6’3”). He could be molded into a combative DM with fantastic technical skill. I think that’s the bet with Gravenbach.
But I think the fee is going to be more than Liverpool will pay. Bayern got a steal at £18m a year ago with Gravenbach’s contract running down, and now they’re going to want a price reflecting young talent with 4 years left on his deal.
Yeah, it feels like a co-ordinated thing to get the player to agitate for the move, and LFC to compromise by agreeing to sell him in January/next summer if he's a good soldier to that point.Lot of reports that the Saudis offered £100m+ for Mo last night, was rejected out of hand.
Have to think the Saudis aren’t serious about landing Mo bow if they waited until the last hours of the window to make this bid. In July among the first wave of big money moves…maybe. Liverpool would have time to recruit a replacement. But now? That’s asking to get turned down.
At the next bid, even if it’s short of £200mAt what ridiculous amount of money do you let a 31 year old winger go?
The flip side of that coin is that an enormous fee doesn’t help your negotiating position when you start shopping.
Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold and Manchester City midfielder Jack Grealish have withdrawn from England’s squad for their September matches against Ukraine and Scotland due to injury.
Alexander-Arnold underwent a scan on Monday and is set to be sidelined for two weeks after suffering a minor hamstring strain in Sunday’s 3-0 victory over Aston Villa.
The 24-year-old was replaced in the 71st minute and after receiving treatment on the field, he walked straight down the tunnel.
The injury leaves him a doubt for Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers on September 16 but his availability for the fixture will depend on how he responds to treatment. He is expected to miss no more than one Premier League game.
I think if you can turn Mo Salah into Mbappe, you do that in a cocaine heartbeat. But I would want to be sure I was getting Mbappe given how disappointing last season was for Liverpool.Supposedly Al- Ettihad officials are in London and are prepping a £215m offer for Salah.
There seems to be some confusion over how much of that is Add-Ons
Regardless - do LFC hold the line or sell him now?
Should LFC hold the line or sell him now?
That’s a lot of money - they could even countenance a Mbappe bid - or simply reinvest in the defence?
One would think the same offer isn’t arriving next summer - maybe £150?
So , is a year of Salah worth ~£50m ? - of course that assumes he doesn’t get hurt (very likely ) or doesn’t fall off a cliff (likely)
I think they WILL hold - I think they SHOULD sell
I strongly dislike Liverpool, but would SELL SELL SELL at this stage and that price.Regardless - do LFC hold the line or sell him now?
