On the Sons of Ray Finkle, McDaniel would be my goat. Plays coming in late and awful call on the playcall at the end of the half to throw.

Jarring to go from a cold weather outdoor game to a game that looks like it is being played in a beautifully designed mall.

I'm surprised that was called a first but more that Singletary isn't called down/ball deadened as part of the attempted gang tackle beforehand. So, so often that's blown dead.

Near impossible to overturn given the lack of absolution on the replay. Don't love the uphold but it makes consistent, logical rule sense given what was initially called, therefore the original call is my bigger gripe.

The problem is the ball was ultimately spotted a half hard short of the first and was STILL called a first.

You have a call from Mr. Stevenson on the white courtesy phone, a call from Mr. Stevenson.

Here’s the first down marker, 33.5:

Here’s where it was spotted (ball is touching the 34):

The ball never made it far enough. Spotter had it right, then someone came in and just said first down?

That too. Such a mess pre-review on both counts if you ask me. The initial no-call and then the spot, which bound them into a fucked decision, because the ball spot (at least to me) wasn't clear, you have to stick with the initial call. Fun.

It just blows my mind that with all the tech out there the NFL (and other leagues too) rely on “eyeballing”and “general vicinity” to spot balls and make calls
