I think both sides should be be happy/relieved to get a point. I think it’s fair to say New England had the biggest missed chance of the match (Kizza’s header) but also scored the flukiest goal (Chicago loosing Buchanan on a throw-in leading to Bou’s goal). A draw is the "fair" result.Disappointed to blow a 2 goal lead, but still happy to get out with a point. New England and Chicago don’t meet again for 6 months, but then twice in 2 weeks (Oct 16 & 31). Until then, friends.
This is something that I've been really keyed into. The Revs have lots of okay CMs. Hopefully Kaptoum can be better than okay, but he's still an unknown. I noticed that Arena said that Maciel would have started if he had been available, so it's interesting to see him a bit higher in the depth chart than I might have expected. The holding midfielders were mediocre. Tommy Mac isn’t a starting caliber player at this point in his career, but should be behind Kaptoum and Caciedo once those two are healthy.
I’ll also add Matt Polster’s name to that list. He’s been mostly fine, but he went to Europe based on his talent at right back. His play in the midfield has been somewhat disappointing, considering expectations. Not helping matters is Arena’s insistence on starting two holding midfielders ever since Michael Bradley was hung out to dry as the 6 in Couva. This is something that I've been really keyed into. Great stuff from Turner, coming into the match he had saved three straight penalties for club and country, so his scouting must be impressive. He also guessed correctly on Moreno’s PK, but it was very well taken.Fun aspect of the Revs' win yesterday: Matt Turner had noticed that Carles Gil had taken too many penalties down the middle lately and told him to mix it up. Sure enough, the Revs win a penalty, Gil goes to the corner this time, and Guzan chose to stay in the middle instead of diving.

Yep. Two points we should have had. Frustrating after sucking against Philly so many times in the regular season last year. What a horse shit no call on fouling Turner that led to the equalizer.
I don't understand how the VAR official doesn't call the red over to look at it. That was a clear elbow to the face of the goalkeeper as Turner is reaching for the ball. Even the Premier league officials would have called for a review there...What a horse shit no call on fouling Turner that led to the equalizer.
He was already a USL-1 regular, so I assume this just closes down the NCAA path to him? His brother (also an academy player) was supposed to play for Harvard this spring, but they had canceled their season. The Revs signed Hikaru Fujiwara to a USL contract. He's an academy kid from Lexington, who was originally born in Japan.

Yes, exactly. Same with Colby Quiñones (Bedford, NH) who signed a USL deal over the offseason. He was already a USL-1 regular, so I assume this just closes down the NCAA path to him?
That’s was pretty darn annoying. Even staggering the matches by an hour or so would have been appreciatedBold strategy scheduling them against the UCL final. Though I guess against the Bruins would have been subpar as well.
Well, from the same source, I present to you what is believed to be a new New England Revolution crest. Once again, it will need confirmation, but here it is 3/
Hah, I just remarked on Twitter that despite everyone saying it reminded them of Rangers, I was seeing the Flamengo R. Then I clicked on this thread. Great minds. The R gives me strong Flamengo vibes and I honestly think the letter mark could be better on its on.
It came up when we were discussing Houston’s redesign in the Dirty Nine thread. I like how letterforms can work on their own. It even kind of saves the Columbus rebrand.Hah, I just remarked on Twitter that despite everyone saying it reminded them of Rangers, I was seeing the Flamengo R. Then I clicked on this thread. I agree with your perspective on the logo.
You can watch goalkeepers punch a ball into their own net, or you can watch Carles "literally better than Messi" Gil.Reminder: who cares about Euros, Revs-NYRB in ten minutes!
