Yup, when I first heard about the Mamba jerseys it sounded like a victory parade route for the Heat to use to their advantage.Mamba jersey fail.
They will win a maximum of one game in the Finals. Again, there will never be an easier path to the Finals than through a team whose best player is Jimmy Butler.
I'll be happy to bet you $100 for charity that they win more than one game in the Finals.
Some charity just earned some CaptaincoopcashDone.
Always been a team first guy and has worked his ass off to continue to improveJimmy Butler is one of the coolest professional athletes of this era. Intelligence, a sense of humor, a gift for communication and as fierce a competitor as you will find. I am stoked we get to see him perform.
Best sports night of 2020MFY eliminated on a HR off Chapman and Ks by Stanton and Voit.
MFL lose on LeBron declining to shoot, Danny Green bricking an open jumper (yeah, fuck him right in the ear for what he did to Klay), and bonehead play by a Morris twin.
This was a good sports night.
And all you were asking for is one L...MFY eliminated on a HR off Chapman and Ks by Stanton and Voit.

Butler absolutely deserves a ring. What he is doing this postseason is legendary. What a game.

I think that we owe you a debt of gratitude for the reverse jinx. Well done.MFY eliminated on a HR off Chapman and Ks by Stanton and Voit.

Yep. The fact that they are doing this without Dragic and a healthy Bam is very impressive. Butler has gone up a few levels from what we saw in our series. This is a legit Heat team, getting harder to feel too upset about the C’s losing to them.
They have more depth than I gave them credit for. This is a legit Heat team, getting harder to feel too upset about the C’s losing to them.
Is the Klay thing something that Warriors fans actually blame him for? I’ve never really heard about any longstanding resentment.MFY eliminated on a HR off Chapman and Ks by Stanton and Voit.

I’ve heard it before. Speaking for myself, it’s not all-consuming or anything, but it’s definitely there. The play on which he injured Klay wasn’t “intentional,” but it was reckless, and either way it badly messed up the career of one of my all-time favorite players, so I’ll always sports-hate him to a degree. I also sports-hate his weird-looking shot that he somehow hits at a high rate, and the fact that he looks so awkward attempting to do anything on the court other than shoot threes and defend. Plus he’s a Laker. Is the Klay thing something that Warriors fans actually blame him for? I’ve never really heard about any longstanding resentment.
Also, and I say this as a compliment: he's a fuckin' redneck. I love the guy so much.Always been a team first guy and has worked his ass off to continue to improve
in fairness, SRN labelled it as "sports hate"My memory is that it was a pretty innocuous play, and seeing replays reinforces that:

That's not reckless in preseason, let alone with < 15 minutes left in game 6 of the finals. He landed badly, shit happens.
I don't think it was a horrible *idea* by Morris. I don't think he thought Davis would move away from the hoop with that little bit of time left. If Davis had slid the other way and that worked (pass seemed like it might have been too high anyway), that would have looked brilliant.and bonehead play by a Morris twin.
Look at his numbers after the injury. He was still excellent. If AD is gimpy, the Heat could take this thing.
Have to see how it responds though. Could tighten up on him and reduce his effectiveness in Game 6. But since it’s the Lakers, he’ll probably be fine and go 40/20.Look at his numbers after the injury. He was still excellent.
I mean, by definition it was not "innocuous," since it messed up Klay's career. Had he not attempted a play on the ball, Klay would have been fine. He had been one of the most durable players in the league up to that point; and he was absolutely killing it that night, peak "Game 6 Klay," launching and swishing from everywhere. The Warriors probably win that game if he doesn't go down there (they had a last-second shot to win without him), and then who knows what happens in Game 7 with the Splash Bros doing their thing. Three straight titles / four in five seasons would have been cool. 18 months later, the Warriors are the #30 seed and Klay is still working his way back into game shape. My memory is that it was a pretty innocuous play, and seeing replays reinforces that:

I'm going to say no. Jae Crowder's takedown that shattered Gordon Hayward's leg was far dirtier-looking than Green's attempted blocked shot on Thompson, and you hear nary a whimper about it around here.In any case, as I clearly noted and as Hogan underlined, it's sports-hate. If Danny Green had done the same thing to Tatum or Brown a year and a half ago, and you were just now watching them struggle to regain their old form, would not the site of Green in a Lakers uniform, getting ready to win his second straight title, rile you up just a bit?
If it’s not dirty then there isn’t a problem. If it were the Celtics, sure, rewatching the play would make me uncomfortable, but I wouldn’t be upset with Green. I’m not upset with Lebron for trying to make a play on Hayward.I mean, by definition it was not "innocuous," since it messed up Klay's career. Yeah, "reckless" was probably overstating it, though by the strict definition, it's not far off: "without thinking or caring about the consequences of an action." I wouldn't call the play dirty, but neither would I say Klay's health was his foremost thought there. I'd argue that in preseason most players would not (or should not) attempt a play on the ball in that situation; but yeah, in a hard-fought playoffs Game 6, it was a pretty normal shot contest.

Exactly. Crowder's play was more physical and in a regular season game, and half of this board would take him back as a bench piece is a second. I don't remember a single person calling out Jae as reckless there. Shit happens.I'm going to say no. Jae Crowder's takedown that shattered Gordon Hayward's leg was far dirtier-looking than Green's attempted blocked shot on Thompson, and you hear nary a whimper about it around here.
This is all fair, and with sports hate rationality isn't super important.I mean, by definition it was not "innocuous," since it messed up Klay's career. Agreed. Everyone is showing the picture of Lebron being wide open, but in those pictures Butler is only a few steps away. Morris isn't capable of zipping a pass to Lebron fast enough to get him a wide open look, Butler would have been able to recover in plenty of time to contest a deep jumper by Lebron. He certainly may have made the shot anyway, but Davis had Bam sealed under the basket, it was a far better look.I don't think it was a horrible *idea* by Morris. I don't think he thought Davis would move away from the hoop with that little bit of time left. If Davis had slid the other way and that worked (pass seemed like it might have been too high anyway), that would have looked brilliant.
But he didn't, so fuck the Lakers.
