Jefferson, who played for the Spurs from 2009 to 2012, was on ESPN's "Get Up" show Wednesday morning. The roundtable discussed Tim Duncan's head coaching debut, which landed in his lap due to Gregg Popovich's time off for personal business, Tuesday night. While the rest of the cast lauded the winning performance against the Charlotte Hornets, Jefferson went on a rant, saying Duncan was "carried" throughout his life.
"Tim Duncan has been carried by people his entire life," Jefferson said.
He argued the five-time NBA Champion "didn't do anything."
Joking or not, Jefferson's stunt riled up the Spurs fan base and caused Jay Williams to walk off the set.
"He's a waste of a player, waste of time, he's the reason the Spurs are struggling this year," he added as Williams walked away from the table.
Jefferson continued the trash talk online, when he shared the clip, saying "all facts."
Some fans took the comments as a "trolling" effort, others were ready to fight and put him in the same category with Kawhi Leonard and Marcus Morris.
