Doesn’t matter. The guy playing the puck was offside. Puck was not on his stick, he was a foot offside.
IIRC, there's an interpretation that you can't skate in backwards unless you are "in control". I believe the call there could have been that he was not in control. I'm waiting on more details though.Doesn’t matter.
I love him. I also love Clifton. And Carlo. And McAvoy. And Grz.Lauzon’s won me over tonight. 6th D.
I’d like to see this rule stand with regard to the level of scrutiny used to determine whether the goal scoring team was offsides, but make it so that offsides is not reviewable after the puck has been in the zone for X seconds, where X is about 5 maybe.Stupid rule, but credit to Bruce. He was decisive on the challenge. That’s how it should be. He didn’t fart around and stall for 4 minutes, he has that thing challenged immediately.
It depends on the interpretation of control. In my opinion he was in control of the puck, so he can go in before the puck. Of course, control is a judgement call.IIRC, there's an interpretation that you can't skate in backwards unless you are "in control". I'm not qualified to make that judgement. But I think we're on the same page. You saw that as control, and I'm currently unsure whether the ref did or did not. It also could have been one of the other skaters. It depends on the interpretation of control. In my opinion he was in control of the puck, so he can go in before the puck.
