Bear in mind all of the games you noted, with the exception of Mich State, were scheduled by either GDF or Bates. As to scheduling, MJ has done nothing other than get a home/home with Army, added a HC game and restructured the UConn games. Still need a P5 opponent in 2023 and who knows how the conference schedule will shake out in 2025 or so when the current deal expires. When you play super conservative football, along with uninspiring opponents, and your marketing is behind your competition (regional opponents, drab uniforms., uninspiring game plans, satisfaction with .500 level football) it is a recipe for a snooze fest and no one cares or will watch. College football is at a crossroads as people are not watching or attending these games the way they did in the past. Hell, 2 years ago ND played BC at Alumni and the game was barley a blip on the news feeds. That game used to be all the buzz, at least in Chestnut Hill. Now, not so much. If you want eyeballs on your product, you need to be innovative and exciting....two things I think we all can agree that BC football is in dire need of.
Oh, and after 2023, I say the odds of either Jarmond or Daz still being at BC are around 20%. Jarmond is there to extend a resume to get a bigger job, perhaps back in the B1G or SEC while Daz will have been the HC at BC for 11 years if he coaches in 2023. That's a lifetime in today's college football. They will grab an FCS school, to fill out 2021 and they will get some bottom feeder P5 from the B1G (Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota) or the XII (Kansas again, or Baylor, Texas tech, etc.) and bot will be long gone. Again....nobody cares
