I'm offering Hayward and TimeLord for Gasol and Green. Sweeten with picks as necessary. But that ship has sailed.

Tracy McGrady still thinks Boston is the best team in the East even after these trades. PP has them 2nd to Milwaukee.
We shall see. In the last 2 months, Toronto has something like the 7th best record in the East.

The Celtics' chances to win the EC got significantly worse after today's events. Am I supposed to be happy about that?

The Raptors picking up Marc Gasol is an equally big move, re-establishing Toronto and Milwaukee as co-favorites in the East, and also giving them a puncher's chance against Golden State in the Finals. https://53eig.ht/2En8Fdc

This has been a rough week for Boston, which has arguably* gone from the best rotation in the East to the 4th-best, and which now probably faces a very tough road series vs. MIL or TOR in the 2nd round. * Our projections already had Toronto No. 1, but you could argue the point.

You realize they can play Brook at the 5 and Mirotic at the 4, right? It's just going to be wide open lanes all day for Giannis. Milwaukee has the chance to be scary good after this deal. Eastern Conference playoffs are going to be wild.
In the playoffs? Against BOS, TOR, or PHI?

Unless Mirotic's defense has improved since last year's playoffs, no I can't see how MIL plays BL an NM together against any good team.

NM is good for MIL because he's good depth to have but I don't see him moving the needle in the playoffs.

Any trade proposed on a message board is a hypothetical trade. Ainge had the assets to do something and did nothing. Who knows what was doable? I certainly don't.

Interesting, Zubac would have been a decent throw in piece for AD but he doesn't really move the needle one way or another.

Which means he still has the assets to get the guy he wants--AD.

DeAndre Jordan and Wes Matthews both (presumably) still out there for BOS, LAL, GSW, HOU etc. if/when they get bought out.

I did see a recent NYPost piece that said NYK might want to keep Jordan around to lure his buddy KD — which made no sense since his contract is expiring — but of course no one ever went broke underestimating the Knicks.

Simmons is not good, but he only has a 1 million dollar guarantee next year. Grabbing a late first and a great 2nd is a good get for PHI.

Philly did well on the trade. That's good value for the 1st overall pick just 1 1/2 years ago...

not sarcasm.

Meanwhile, the Celtics turned their end of the deal into Tatum, and maybe....

Pacers? Booooo. But I'm guessing he wants minutes, and with the loss of Oladipo he's more likely to get them there than in GS, HOU, BOS, etc.

Can i play the Memphis GM in this scenario?

No thanks, we're rebuilding. Not looking to add a still physically limited Gordon Hayward due 2/67 after this year.

We watch the games too.
