Just flipped on Spurs-Newcastle to see Yedlin deliver a fantastic cross that Rondon donked off the post. Sloppy and disorganized match right now, which suits Rafa I suppose.

Spurs have turned it up the past 10 minutes, but it all looks a bit blunt. Lamela lashed a wicked low in swinging cross that Schaar cleared off the line. Then Eriksen spotted Llorente free ah the back post, but the big man lost the ball in the sun. That kind of match so far.

I’ll take it. The goal was fortuitous but any goals during this stretch minus Kane and Dele are much appreciated. I don’t think Spurs are likely to win the league but this was going to be a big stretch for them as far as UCL qualification and they’ve done very well.

Everton fans chanting "sign him up" after a black cat was running around the pitch for a full 2-3 minutes is pretty great

Every article about Everton for the rest of the season is going to mention the cat and for good reason. This team is shit.

I’ve been really impressed by Nampalys Mendy in this match. Really high work rate and agility. Leicester are asking a lot of Ndidi and Mendy in midfield and he’s working his socks off trying to make it work

Edit: nbc really shouldn’t highlight child abuse during halftime

ManU has gone from 11 points away from top 4 to 2 since Ole Gunnar took over (22 points out of 24).
It’s setting up the most interesting managerial decision of the summer. I’d theh finish top-4, Ole stays, right? If they miss out, then they open up a search?

His 4 yellow cards were impressive

Good grief, was that Iwobi whose controller disconnected in possession at the top of his own penalty area?

Thought Arsenal would be up for this match. Maybe they are. Already it looks like it's gonna be tough to get anything out of this match.

Really nice little flick by Monreal. Perfect execution on that corner.

There are a lot of bad tattoos in sports but Ederson’s neck tattoo might be the worst. That thing is horrifying.

Aguero gets his second with a simple finish from close range. Maybe Arsenal could have defended a bit better, but you have to applaud City's play there.

Thought Arsenal were playing well enough to see the half out. I know nothing.

I’ve got a lot of time for anyone who shows studs to Ander Herrera.

And yes Edersons tattoo may actually be the worst in sports.

Arsenal playing with fire giving KDB so much space at times and quite lucky he’s still working his way back. Been entertaining and mostly better than versus the toon interesting formation by Pep today to say the least

Aguero collects the hat trick, the ball went in off his elbow though.

Yeah, wasn't close to anything that could be called deliberate though. Much as I can't stand Atkinson I don't think he's made many clear gaffes today. Mustafi's pullback on I think Aguero in the first half at 1-1 was borderline but can't think of many others

edit: as far as tattoos go, Roma's Rick Karsdorp is making a late bid to overtake Ederson

United up to 5th. Hard games are to come, and the team look exhausted today, but just as Sir Alex’s legacy grows with every season they struggle, Mourinho looks terrible with the job that Ole is doing.

I still don't know what to make of Ole's United. The results are there and fundamentally that's what matters. They're not playing so regressive that scoring feels impossible. But a lot of the performances haven't been a matter of overwhelming the opponent (of those I've seen). Leicester carried a lot of the play today and hit a lot of chances right at De Gea. Not to say United were outclassed, far from it, but that was a fairly even match. Yet they keep doing enough to get the result and of course the confidence that is being restored may result in more dominant performances later in the season

Oh, the linesman has missed that. I think West Ham switched off for a second thinking he ref would whistle or sommat. But I can hear Mikey Hoy shoutin in my ear 'play the whistle' - you gotta play the whistle.

Offside in the buildup, but Liverpool get the opener.
Yes, by just wee bit...

Not enjoying the return of the 20016-2017 defensive strategy of running around aimlessly, watching screamers fly just wide, and yelling at your teammates. Time honored, sure, but less than effective.

Edit: Wow, Kieta. That's what Liverpool was hoping to see when he came over. Wonderful.

Liverpool have gotten an insane whistle all year, I think I've watched 6 Liverpool matches this season and I've seen at least 10 egregiously poor decisions on goals, offsides, and cards in their favor

Naby Keita hasn't convinced me yet that he can be a success at Liverpool. I'm not sure what his game is at the moment.

Apparently it's fantastic skill going forward and lazyass defending...this first half, at least.

Oh boy, Liverpool are just not at the races with these set pieces. That should have been a goal for West Ham, free header in the box...got to score there.

West Ham should be up 2 or 3-0, but still level which means a loss is coming
Manuel Pellegrini sure doesn’t change. Not a negative, but there aren’t a ton of sides who will commit to getting this many men forward versus Liverpool, stretching the game while playing a high line. It’s fun to watch and they created some trouble but I fear you’re far too vulnerable.

One problem for West Ham is we need to score at least 1 more to offset the inevitable dive for a penalty by Salah or Mane.

Liverpool are a long way from their best tonight. Firmino hasn't done much. Keita and Lallana not really making much happen either. West Ham could nick this.

If Andy Robertson could actually shoot, then he'd be a player. He's got so much energy and pace, if he could work on his shooting. I mean he barely defends as it is.
