I don't even know who the MVP will be.

They'll give it to Jules, but I think Slater should take it. What a fucking game. What a fucking season. I'm amazed.

Still amazed after last year that the D won the Super Bowl. Game balls for the entire D squad and Edelman. Honorable mention to Michel.

So that was the best defensive showing ever in a Pat's Superbowl. If anyone had suggested that half way through the season they would have been put in a psych ward!

A perfect bookend to holding the Greatest Show on Turf to 17.

Hightower was huge.

A Scud Away from Hell
16 catches by Gronk and BurgerTyme.

Harmon knocking out a sure TD.

Cooks losing the physical battle, much like his time in NE.

If Hightower held on to that pass, he is the MVP. He still had a great game. As much as Gronk seemed rejuvenated, so did Hightower.

Defensive game plan and execution were perfection. Literally everyone came up with a big moment. Even with Chung out, Harmon comes in and makes a big play. Jackson was great, did they even mention his name all game?

That was the best defensive showing ever in the super bowl. Tied only with the Cowboys in V.

It is unthinkable to win a Super Bowl like that on defense in this era of offensive football.

If you had told me the Pats would score 13 and win... by double digits, I would have told you you're freaking insane. Everyone on defense.

Edelman for sure.

That big Gronk reception at the end was so obvious that it was funny. There was no way they could double cover both Edelman and Gronk.

I didn't watch the NFL all year for reasons, but I got roped in during the conference championship weekend.

Yes, when he smashed Goff right on the sideline, on a play that wasn't flagged. I think that was Jackson.

Every player on D was good, most were great. The schemes to get Hightower and KVN rolling downhill at the QB were beautiful. They were all over Goff, all over the run game, all over the receivers. What a clinic, for a team that has been ridiculed for having no talent on D. Feel so good for JMac, I bet mom is happy haha.

They pulled out one clinical drive when needed after falling short all night, and to watch the run game close it out was wild. We physical?

After the Miami debacle, I mean, damn. How do you come back from that? Not to mention the other bad losses.

To have lost how they lost last year and come back and pitch a near shut out is just staggering. This was also not a case of massive offensive drives keeping the defense off the field with 8 minute drives.

Patriots we 3-12 on third down conversions. They kept giving the ball back and the defense never fucking broke.

It is one of the greatest achievements in modern football that I have ever seen.

Belichick is simply the GOAT. These players go in the books as the most resilient defensive Patriots ever.

Well said. BB didn't need anything to cement his legacy as the GOAT but this was a legacy game. It is right up there with the first Rams Super Bowl and the Giants-Bills Super Bowl in terms of BB defensive masterpieces, maybe even better given the utter level of domination.

I feel like I've been waiting for a Pats D to play a game that great, that dominating, since shortly after the '04 SB win. And it was more than worth the wait.

I will admit that this is the first year since 09 that I didn't think we could do it. After the Miami and Pittsburgh losses, and following the loss of Josh Gordon, I just didn't think we had enough firepower to prop up an apparent so-so defense.

Something changed for this team in week 17, the Jets game. They were absolutely dominant in that game, and it just snowballed into the postseason. Romo tonight (and others during playoffs) have said that it turned when we got the bye week, but to me it looked like the turning point was that last regular season game. For all the bad things around the NFL, this is one of football's great gifts: watching a team that figures it out late in the year and refuses to lose again.

As we watch replays we will start remembering huge plays but one that sticks out is Andrews recovering the fumble.

Yeah, if the Hall of Fame could only have one Belichick game plan, they might have to swap out Giants-Bills for this. And Wade Phillips had a really good plan on the other side, which only helped to highlight how great the BB one was.

Edelman always trying to be Brady. Suspended first four games of the season, goes on to win Super Bowl MVP.
