You know the corners were good when you didn't hear a damn thing about any of them outside of JC's penalties (and I'm not even getting into those.)Was Jonathan Jones on Hill pretty much the entire game?

Nailed it.My two scents: Limit Mahomes/keep him on the bench, with long drives. If the OL can open holes, Sony gets 4-5 yds a pop, Jules and Jim (had to) can get open, they'll grind out 1st downs, time off the clock, points, and a tight win.
Win the toss, take the ball, ice Mahomes, score and start the pressure.
And put some faith in BB that he can draw up a pressure defense to frustrate a young QB.
I believe it was tongue in cheek and it was spectacular.Holy crap. There's not enough tinfoil in the world for that dude.

It was supposed to be an all-time great AFC Championship game and it delivered. Not everything is about hating the Patriots. Plus, they had an awesome lead in from another all-time classic that ended 15 minutes before this one began. It should have broken ratings records.
How much of this was people hate watching the pats?

I highly recommend starting where WBH quotes and skipping ahead 50 pages at a time. What a ride.Whew!
Well, I just surfaced from a few minutes reading something called "chiefsplanet"

It is, let's say, interesting.... like a Jets discussion, only less grammatically clear.
Lots of confidence and paranoia all rolled up into one big mess. Funny mix really.
A running observation is that -- shocker -- the Pats cheat their way to the home record, 3-5 on the road is the real story.
Looks like pg 337 is the Ford penalty, for a milepost.I highly recommend starting where WBH quotes and skipping ahead 50 pages at a time. What a ride.
Lincoln Kennedy was the RT for the Raiders in the Tuck Rule game. He recovered 9 fumbles in his 11 seasons in the league. It's the Lincoln/Kennedy assassination coincidences combined with Dark Side of the Moon/Wizard of Oz.

Is he saying Ford was in the neutral zone the whole game? What?I've heard that as a courtesy refs give out a warning early in the game to d lineman when they're lined up in the neutral zone.
Andy Reid is partly right and partly wrong. It's typical courtesy that if someone lines up in the neutral zone, if they look over to the line judge, the LJ will hand-signal "hey, you're over" and he'll back up. But "courtesy" is the operative word, it's not the ref's job to get your attention, you have to be checking yourself. If you watch the lead-up to the play, Ford has his eyes locked on Brady, never looks over to the sideline.Just watched ESPN’s afternoon NFL show, and Sal Pal was reporting from KC. He relayed that Reid is still furious that the refs didn’t warn the coaching staff that Ford was lining up too close to the neautral zone throughout the game, so they could have alerted him to back off and not cross over. Reid told Sal Pal that was standard protocol. I’ve never heard of that, and why would it be the officials job to help coach and correct any player? WTF are the coaches for? It struck me as complete whiny, unaccountable, bullshit. Sean Payton’s got legitimate grievances from yesterday. Fat Andy just got beat. Again.
That's the key to his complaint. If the refs said to him he was pushing it all game then they finally had to call it on him but gave no forewarning then I can see his beef. If he hadn't been lining up in the neutral zone until the play where they called the infraction then this is just hot air from Reid.Is he saying Ford was in the neutral zone the whole game? What?
Yeah, wow, it got real in there with the anti-semitism. Geez, it's a football game.Wow. I sit here marveling at the angst this person is feeling now.
I just sat there for a second. Absolutely incredible.Yeah, wow, it got real in there with the anti-semitism. Geez, it's a football game.
I’ve been kind of lurking on that site since before the Chiefs game with the Colts. No schadenfreude to be had then since they destroyed the Colts. However, this sounds familiar to me and many more before 2004 Red Sox fans laments (after last night’s game).Whew!

WR’s are taught to do this. From HS to the pros you’ll see WR’s look to the line judge and give a thumbs up to ask if they’re good.Andy Reid is partly right and partly wrong. I think it's a good practice - any penalties that can be prevented by a little active reffing is probably a good thing, we have enough flags as it is - but that doesn't make it the refs' job to prevent those penalties.
This is incredible. It wasn't like Ford was half an inch over the line. He was 6-8 inches over the line. He wasn't in the neutral zone, he was legitimately on the Patriots side of the line of scrimmage!I've heard that as a courtesy refs give out a warning early in the game to d lineman when they're lined up in the neutral zone.
Yep--the difference is the WR is asking. Reid just expected a head's up.WR’s are taught to do this. From HS to the pros you’ll see WR’s look to the line judge and give a thumbs up to ask if they’re good.
Barring injury, the mantle is Mahomes' to take when Brady retires in 5 or 6 years.I wouldn't mind Reid & Mahomes getting a ring once Brady is done.
there's a lot of shitty personalities on that team like Hill & Kelce I would prefer not to get one, though.
IIRC, it was an Eagles WR asking the linesman if he was close enough to the LOS to avoid an illegal formation penalty, and the official motioned to him to move up a couple of steps.Didn’t the refs warn an Eagles player about an LOS issue in last years SB?
One of their defensive guys just slammed James White (or was it Michel?) to the ground when it was obvious he wasn’t going any further, and Hogan got thrown out of bounds far harder than was necessary, twice. They also over-celebrate every little gain or triumph, even when behind. I came out of that game with a lot more hate for the Chiefs than I did going in.I wouldn't mind Reid & Mahomes getting a ring once Brady is done.

I made the Clamette watch 4Q and OT last night. At one point she said, "Why are those guys making such assholes of themselves? Don't they know they're going to lose?"...They also over-celebrate every little gain or triumph, even when behind. I came out of that game with a lot more hate for the Chiefs than I did going in.
Chiefs fans have wanted this guy gone for years. Say Reid is too loyal to his guys.Casualties of the game:
Maybe this is posted elsewhere, but it looks like Sutton is a fall guy. I doubt it was just this game. If anything, he got that team defense to make progress in the back side of the year.

That. Is. Awesome.Should be a little easier to catch a flight now.
Pointed out in any number of posts (elsewhere) that Romo calling all those Pats plays correctly helped to get him fired.Casualties of the game:

WAPOThe laser wasn’t the only interference incident during Sunday’s game. A man ran onto the field holding a sign that said “Vote Trump” and “Build the Wall,” according to a KMBC video. He was eventually tackled and removed by stadium security.

“I've been a Chiefs fan since 1964 at old Municipal Stadium. This ranks right up there with our overtime loss to the Dolphins on Christmas Day.
Helluva offense. Sucky defense. When big games count, there is no way we can win them with Bob Sutton and this defense. I'm sick of it. And I'm getting old. Will the Chiefs reach the big dance before the Grim Reaper calls?”
It would be like us invading their forum and trying to talk smack about New Hampshire having better chowder or something. What in the hell are you idiots even talking about?
By the way, we don't hate you because we're jealous. We hate you for the same reason the entire country hates you: because there is nothing worse than a bunch of ignorant Massholes imagining themselves as the best of anything. OH MY GAHD KID CHECK OUT THIS CHIEF FAHUM KID THEY HATE US LET'S INVADE THESE HICKS AND TALK ABOUT BAHBACUE KID WE ONLY HAVE A YEEAH OR TWO LEFT KID LET'S SHOW EM WHO'S BAHS
Solid tip. Just had them put it on at Sonny McLean’s in Santa Monica. The regulars are happy.Replay is currently on NFLN with first quarter having just finished.
I noticed this on the play that Kelce drew a DPI in the endzone (after pushing off). It was the 1st play or so of the 4th quarter, I believe. In vaguely related way -- LOS issue -- I noted one KC offensive play where it really looked clear to me that the outside wideout and the inside guy were both on the line (i.e. the inside guy was covered up). IIRC, the LOS was near a 5 yard stripe so it was clear that both guys' front feet were in line. I'll try to rewatch to find the play.
Ford should find a way to get a subtle advantage somehow.Trent Browns abusing Dee Ford on the ground.
True ... but for me it makes up for the non-call on the Charles Woodson facemaskMan that roughing the passer was a bad call.
