What a bizarre game. Liverpool have been the better side but all of their goals have come off of fluky deflections.

Can't keep conceding cheap corners like this, but there's no holding option off the bench with Wijnaldum not fit

Talk about going over the ball. Milner arguably lucky to still be on the pitch
Nah. Maybe if the ball were farther away from him. He got enough of the ball to make it a no-brainer yellow instead of red.

Salah dribbling the ball directly into the feet of a defender two straight times

Ugh not the guy you want to see down trying to defend a one goal lead... Camacho at RB redux with Milner back to CM?

How hasn't Moss given a foul on Mané for barging into Townsend?

Shaqiri at RB lol

Never mind, Firmino at RB

Nobody who has been a Liverpool fan for any period of time looks past Palace. Best of luck the rest of the way.
Thank you. We need all the hope we can get.

So here is the question for the late game. As American neutrals, we kind of have to root for Chelsea now, right?

Well, Pulisic isn't on their roster until the summer, so I'm still rooting for a draw with 3 red cards per side

Wow Auba. Soooooo close.

Edit: and for all of Auba’s skill, Koscielny scores one off his shoulder.

Just watched Sarri digging out his players at the post match press conference - in Italian.

Does that ever end well these days?

The immortal Kazaiah Sterling is on the bench today for Spurs. Hopefully they can be as fortuitous as Liverpool was yesterday because they are going to need it these next few games.

That’s a rough looking Spurs lineup. They should have plenty to overcome Fulham but it was a bit startling to see given the quality you’ve run out last few years

He also made it a point to say "I'm speaking in Italian because I don't want my translations to get mixed up". It was a shocking press conference. I believe that's the last 3 Chelsea managers that have done that though so...something's up.

Nice active first ten minutes for Rose. Fullback playing and bossing the midfield is going to be how Spurs win this game.

Llorente has played about as poor of a game as a striker could play.

Maybe even a little more fortuitous.

That was "Origi at the end of the Merseyside Derby" fortuitous.

Over the course of the game, maybe; Spurs did not play very well. But Origi's goal was a total fluke and Wink's was actually a well-worked goal.

Yeah Spurs scores two well-worked goals on crosses to the far post. A little fortunate that the keeper didn’t come off his line and make a play on the ball (although that pales in comparison to the Palace keeper palming the ball into his own net) but they earned both of them.

Monster game from Danny Rose today, if he’s healthy I never want to see Ben Davies again.

It’s the kind of game we’ve seen Spurs lose before against a lesser team — have tons of possession but few legit chances, surrender a fluke. The difference here was not facing great goalkeeping. Relieved to get the three points.

And Llorente, buddy, try using the hard part of your head next time.
