I’m happy to see United playing so well. I’m sure I’ll hate it in a few weeks but pogba and rashford et al have ability to play beautiful football.

This Liverpool team reminds me of 2004. They fixed biggest problems in FA, had found cheap stars and developed some great young players. Great manager and management. They are great right now and with Gomez and Keita coming back....
I expect Jan 3 to be an epic battle. City goes all out. If they lose they put all their focus on champions league as they’d be behind by 10 to a team that has only yielded 6 points through 20 games.
By the way that Salah touch to Mane’ was so good.

Not to quibble with your post, but it’s unfair to say he clicked it on; he’s now just being utilized properly. It’s no surprise that Paul Pogba is really, really good when he’s allowed to be Paul Pogba and not pigeon-holed into an outdated role.
As a Spurs fan I’ve liked seeing United scuffle through these last several seasons, but I do like to see really good soccer players play really well, and it’s fun to see these guys play with energy and passion once again.
Split the difference. Pogba definitely had some disinterested performances in November & December while being used in a mindnumbingly limited way.
We’ll be fascinating to see what United do this winter - if they thin the ranks at all and/or find defensive reinforcements. And how Solskjaer organizes the side as opponents begin to scout & adjust to the new set up. The talent if there to put up 45+ points during the second half of the season.

As a Liverpool supporter, I love seeing Eggplant back in the lineup. That assumes he does't pull a calf within the first twenty minutes.
Laporte at left back for City - not sure he has the pace to keep up with Salah - be he can certainly try to muscle him...
I agree that this choice of midfield is very conservative, and i wonder how this will affect Liverpool in terms of a forward threat, cos it doesn't scream creativity. But, the good thing for Liverpool is that there are options on the bench. I can see Shaqiri making an appearance if Liverpool need a goal with 25 minutes to go. A draw is a huge result for Liverpool IMO.
Agreed. Way too much talk pre-game about expecting LFC to walk away with a win. A draw would be awesome.

Doesn't the league have some sort of electronic notification, a buzzer on the watch, of the referees for just that reason?

I'm not sure about all this playing the ball back to the keeper thing that Liverpool are doing. I'm sure it's all been thought out in advance and it does wind time off the clock, but, it often results in the keeper punting it up, Man CIty get the ball and continue to pressure Liverpool.
