Wolves-LFC kicks off at 3pm to start the stacked holiday schedule and, more importantly, my holiday weekend as I'll move in front of the tv for my last few hours working from home.

The Guardian finished their top 100 players in the world. Just skimming through it earlier it seems like there more new entries than usual

They had Modric as their #1 this year breaking the 6 year streak of Messi/Ronaldo. I'd still take Messi every day of the week but well deserved after the year Modric had

NBA-ization of the Premier League.

Heavy heavy rain. This game is going to be sloppy.

Fabinho with 2 great assists the last 2 games. Salah was never as down as the media would make you think but the goals are starting to come back

Not loving a dragback with pressure on... by the keeper

On the flip side, loving Mané back in his own area to make a crucial bloc

Lovren hesitating allows Wolves to close Keïta and Robertson down, he’s got to be quicker or go back to the keeper

Liverpool aren’t committing a lot of numbers back, and frankly seem lazy on defense, but Wolves have lacked real quality in the final third to really make them pay. Really fun first half.

With a spine of Mignolet / Lovren / Matip / Henderson this would be 3-1 to Wolves. I don’t know if it’s possible to quantify VVD and Alisson’s value to Liverpool right now.

I do have to say, despite their lack of finishing thus far today, Wolves play some quality football.

Liking Wijnaldum for Firmino here

Also cool to see former Liverpool academy product Conor Coady regularly rocking the armband for a top half team. He’s acquitted himself well

As a Limp Bizkit aficionado it pleases me that a Jon Otto plays for Wolves

VVD is exceeding my wildest expectations. He’s so calm and confident in everything he does

Zaha looks up for diving and Otamendi is always up for diving in so you have a good avenue there
I’m obviously biased, but I think Wilf’s reputation for diving is unfair. He usually goes down at full speed, which makes it harder to say it’s intentional. It’s rare to see him go down at other times. And since he’s often isolated, he’s often going at top speed.

Ok the stat just mentioned about City is nuts: have not allowed a shot on goal in the first 25 minutes of a game this season. That’s impressive.

And there is the first goal. Poor defending and a nice finish.

Holy shit! Schlupp makes up for things and it’s 1-1. Not a fair representation of the play, but I’ll take it.

That has to be one of the goals of the season. Townsend makes it 2-1 for Palace. I’m speechless right now.

So if Palace don't concede two goals or more they get definitely something from the game. That's the arithmetic. Piece of cake really.

Roy knows how to park a bus when he needs to.

I wonder if City are still bookies favourites to win the match.

I’d feel a lot better if it were 10 minutes we were talking about rather than 45 though.

My feed went out and I was shocked to see the new score. I wouldn’t have asked for this for Christmas because it was too outlandish.

That was a long long last 20 minutes. I mean can you defend any deeper? But it's a huge result for Liverpool. Not bad for Palace an aw.

It’s Cardiff; but United look like a weight has been lifted off their shoulders; outside of a conceded penalty they’ve looked superb.

Pogba in particular. He’s looking clever, dangerous, and half-enjoying himself.

Edit: Fred lives!

I wonder how many goals a Mourinho side would have scored today? Maybe they win 2-1?

Maybe 2. It was an away fixture, can’t roll with anything less than 3 holding midfielders.

Yeah. He’s done that a few times. Wicked old school. And by “old school” I mean late 90’s.
In my brief goalkeeping career, I insisted upon wearing a ballcap, but backwards like my idol Walter Zenga, so there were zero practical benefits of doing so.

As for Hart, I’m guessing the new stadium in London must have very little shade, because I don’t remember him doing it at Torino or Manchester City. He even once wore a hat that a fan threw on the field.

LOL. Everton keeper and defender do an impression of me playing soccer and Son ties it up.
