Congrats to deserving Mookie and JBJ. Even if post-season was included you guys would be there.

Ian Kinsler, you would not

Congrats to all three but JBJ in particular. Add me to the list of people saying it’s about time.

Gonna go ahead and redundantly say it's about damn time JBJ got one. Should be number 3.

Mookie gonna Mookie.

And outside of my poorly planned thread in P&G, Kinsler is a pretty solid choice as well.

Good for all three.

Woohoo!

JBJ finally recognized for his wizardry! Should have won it back in 2014, and it’s amazing that he got it now, when other teams know better than to expect a ball to fall or to try for the extra base.

Ah, memories...

And congratulations on another well-earned one for Mookie!

I love the shot of Donaldson (must have been 4 years ago?) desperately trying to block Pedroia's relay throw doubling him off 1st! Did he think if he reached out and swatted the throw he'd have been ruled safe?

Nothing even slightly amazing about it.
Agreed.

I understand the frustration with Kinsler's bat (and even some of his baserunning) in the postseason. His defense was both steady and underrated.

Let's not Buckner the guy because he made a bad throw on what would have been a final out.

That inning by the way, had the highest win percentage sum of the postseason at 127.2 WPS points (almost half what you would see in an average game). For an interesting read on WPS and the postseason I highly recommend Shane Tourtellotte's 2018 postseason recap.

How close is Benny to getting one? I'm not up on the competition. Has any team ever swept the outfield before?
It's only recently that they swapped to differentiating the three outfield positions, so I'd imagine it would have been very tough to do so (with corner outfielders competing against Center Fielders). Having two back then was already very impressive.

Great news for JBJ and long overdue. I was afraid his offense would hold him back (I know it's a defensive award but offense factors in even if it shouldn't)

As for Mookie, why don't they just rename it the "Mookie Betts Right Field Gold Glove Award"

He was either the 3rd- or 4th-best LF in the league by the advanced metrics. Basically, there was Gordon in a class by himself, then Gardner, Beni and Rosario clustered fairly close together. Gordon and Gardner have been the class of the field for the past few years, but are both in their mid-30s, so I'd say Beni will probably get his chance before long.

I can't get enough of that video. 4:37, off the bat, that's two outs? That's what a double-play ball looks like?

Congrats JBJ. Well earned.
