Scary part about this game is that Washington is probably the odds-on best team in the Pac-12 this year. They lose this, and when you consider that no 2 loss team has ever made the playoff, it may mean that the Pac-12 is eliminated from playoff contention in week one.

Yup, pretty much done outside of chaos happening in a lot of other leagues.

And PSU survives.

Tough-luck targeting call on Michigan there, but if you want to get those hits out of the game, you need to call that.

It was such a stupid hit. Ejection is a tough penalty but that was really dumb. He could have easily gone for a tackle instead of a hit like that.

Tua is high risk high reward. We’ll see if Saban can stomach the drama.
I’m not sure he has much choice. Bama’s O-line isn’t as ridiculously dominant as it once was, so they’re going to need a QB who can get the ball to their athletes in space. Unless he took a big step forward during the offseason, Hurts isn’t that guy.

Agreed. Tua’s got a bit of a Manziel feel when he’s scrambling. Doesn’t seem to protect the ball. Be interested to see if it leads to actual turnovers.

DLines starting to dominate this game. Feels like ND is in control but it’s still close. One score by Michigan puts them right in it.

And I feel like maybe I could walk down to Mission Street and find a handful of big guys who could block better than the UM line. That was just awful. I will forever be grateful to Harbaugh for resuscitating a moribund Stanford program but... I feel like things are moving in the wrong direction there. They basically got waxed and the game wasn’t as close as the score suggested.

Someone explain this to me... You're BYU on the road against Zona and trailing.. the first half clock is winding down under 10 seconds and your team has the ball near midfield. It's fourth down, the clock is ticking, you have a timeout left. You decide that rather than taking the timeout with 1 or 2 seconds left and throwing a hail mary into the end zone, you decide instead to just let the clock run out.

What am I missing?

Any UVA fans here? It was only Richmond but we've got a game changer at QB now. Offensive line is weak a depleted so I don't know how the running game will look against a decent front 7. Any thoughts out there on this team

Everyone wants to blame FSU's Offensive line for the beatings Francois took last year, and it's continued into tonight, and don't get me wrong, they are not good.

But, Francois has the absolute worst pocket presense and awareness of any QB I've seen at a big time program in a long time. Dude stands there like a statue half the time, and gets blasted, when a simple step up into the pocket would have defenders running by the back of him, and the other half of the time, he takes off when he doesn't need to, and usually runs into a tackler, as opposed to away from one.

Oh look, as I'm typing, he just ran into the back of his own lineman's leg on a 3 man rush, to take a sack on his own 3 yard line on third down. Uggh. FSU will not win this kid unless someone teaches him how to move around in the pocket. His arm strength is glorious, and he seems to have pretty good accuracy, but he has to figure out a way to get the ball out and he's as responsible for the sacks and hurries as his linemen are, IMO.

I’ve really noticed him not stepping up in the pocket tonight.

Can’t believe the Hokies keep fucking up on offense, keeping us in it

VT has like 12 tackles for a loss. They’re getting guys in the backfield on a 3 man rush. This is a blitzkrieg by FSU’s own doing.

28/52 plays for zero or neg yards

What a stat. And it could easily be tied or 10-7 VT

It's funny you say that about his pocket presence because all Jesse Palmer would talk about is his ability to stand in the pocket and make tough throws. None of that tonight.

Sure, he just stood in the pocket and made a tough throw and got slammed. Of course, if he just recognized where the pressure was coming from, and stepped up and to the right, he could have maybe given himself enough time for another receiver to come open, and saved himself from getting crushed. You can't just let defensive ends come through on the outside of your tackles over and over again, and never step up in the pocket. It's hard to watch.

They should be up 3 scores, but for some reason they went for it on 4th and goal.
You're right in the big picture, but FSU got absolutely fucked in the first half by the refs, costing them 4 points when they should have had a TD instead of a field goal. How the fuck does that not get reviewed after the initial play, and still not get reviewed after the false start, which gave them like 3-4 minutes to look at it? So bad.
