Afyet yesterday’s upset by Brighton over MU, assuring the Seagulls’ safety, Saturday starts with Stoke fighting for survival against Palace. A draw keeps them mathematically alive, but a win by Palace puts the nail in Stoke’s coffin.

Edit: is it weird that only Stoke are walking out with kids, and not Palace?

This is the first time since about 30 minutes into the first game of the season I haven’t been terrified of relegation. It’s a good feeling.

Palace are taking their time, but Stoke looks very vulnerable to a counterattack, which I guess is to be expected.

Stoke 1-0 after a beautiful free kick by Shaqiri. Hennessey didn’t even move.

There have been rumors of Palace being interested in him if Stoke go down. I’d really like that.

Stoke was sitting back trying to defend their lead and Palace just had too many opportunities. 1-1. Basically immediately after Stoke took Crouch off too, so bad timing there too.

Stoke are just too vulnerable to the counter. Whenever they lose possession Palace are off to the races. Palace haven't had that many great chances but Stoke just can't keep the ball.

Harsh but they deserve it. You just can't come up that small at home in a game like this.

And Palace actually have a chance to finish in the top half, playing West Brom next week. Which is absolutely amazing, whether they actually achieve it or not.

Someone should pick up Shaqiri on the cheap. He strikes fear in me every time he gets the ball. He basically beat Newcastle singlehandedly in their first match this season.

Turns out Stoke couldn't do it on a cold, wet night at Stoke.

Congrats jkempa and Palace on staying up. Hodgson has done an unbelievable job. Finishing in the top half after spotting the league seven games is an impressive achievement.

West Ham up over Leicester, if they hold on they're probably safe, would be at least 4 up with 2 to play.

This Spurs - West Brom match is a bit of a snoozer. Spurs have most of the possession but haven't gotten out of second gear.

Thank you...it doesn’t seem to ever get any easier with these guys, but it certainly is a fun roller coaster.

Top half isn’t assured yet (it requires a win against West Brom next week, and at least one loss by Newcastle, which it looks like is coming), but the fact that it’s even possible is amazing.

I’m all for putting a statue of Roy in front of Selhurst Park at this point.

Everton v Southampton could start limiting the field.
Everton win or draw and West Ham are safe a Soton win and West Brom are relegated.

Essentially it's a 4 team race.
West Brom is highly likely dead. They need to beat Palace, have neither Swansea nor Southampton pick up more than 1 point (so lose every game except their matchup on Tuesday ending in a draw). Technically they could catch Southampton if Southampton got 2 points, but it's a lot of GD to make up.

Huddersfield are sneakily in a bad spot despite having the most points and a game in hand on all but Soton. 35 means only Southampton and Swansea can pass them but their schedule is BRUTAL: City Away, Chelsea Away, Arsenal Home (in Wenger's last match). And their GD is terrible. Best situation for them is

Swansea- Soton and Stoke, need at least 3 points from the 2 to have a chance

Soton- Everton, Swansea, City- need 4 points likely for safety based on their GD.

Wowwww

Everton score off deflection at 95:10, when there was announced 4’ of stoppage time

That’s awful for Southampton

Game should have been whistled

Huddersfield showing well the first 10 minutes. They really should have scored on a very clever free kick that turned up a one-on-one with the keeper. Good luck to them the rest of the way...

Huddersfield with quality and intensity. The better side at 23’.

The inferior team needing the points always comes out like this, especially away, right? Can the keep it up for 90?

West Brom would almost certainly stayed up if they hadn't made Alan Pardew their manager for half the season:

record under Pulis and Moore: P19 W5 D8 L6 GD -6, 23 Points
record under Pardew: P18 W1 D5 L12 GD -17, 8 points

Rooting for Liverpool today has been less enjoyable than I thought it would be.

Brutal. Solanke has to get that opportunity on target.

Credit to Rudiger and Alonso for utilizing the Ashley Young defense on Salah, completely shut him down and even got him to take a yellow for diving

California. Duh.
Liverpool are +15 in GD on Chelsea, so 3 points at home against already-safe Brighton would be enough to clinch 4th. But there will likely be some nerves, especially with nobody wanting to get hurt with the CL Final looming.

Before I though Klopp may rest players, but to be honest I didn't realize there was 2 weeks between the last game and the final. I think you guys will be fine, but you're right in that if there isn't an early goal the fans may get restless.
