I'm in agreement, think the PK is going to have to come up big, have to be ready for an early buzz saw, and if the Bs can withstand that and land the first goal it will take a lot of wind out of Toronto's sails. I'd dearly love them to sweep, to have a few days between for the bumps and bruises to fade.

Is it 7 yet??? I've got a number of things to do today and I just want the game to get here. Ugh.

By extension, whatever asshat is dropping the puck will have to be a bit less of an asshat. The histrionics every freaking face-off with the guy refusing to drop it because he just HAS to tell the centers about his personal problems.

I'm someone who admittedly has not watched most of the regular season, so what's the story with this? Is the league cracking down on perceived impermissible tactics league wide (aka 'points of emphasis in NFL speak), did some team(s) bitch enough to the league office or officials about Bergy's faceoff play that they're on high alert, or is this an isolated crew-specific annoyance?

I haven't been quite as hyper-focused on it in the other games, but from when I started watching the Caps game (3rd period and OT), I can only definitively recall one toss-out and it was a very clear violation by the Caps player jumping the gun. For the most part, nothing seemed unusual. Feels like it could be a Gronk OPI situation but who knows with the NHL.

Draws are always a gong show. They have a new penalty (2 boots on same draw = delay of game) this year which became a point of emphasis in the preseason leading to a shit ton of meaningless minor penalties. Then of course the games started to count and it largely went away (I don’t recall a single one being called at all in the Bruins 82 regular season games) so guys probably started to cheat again.

Road down, home down, puck down. Don’t over think it. When they stand there holding the puck for 30 seconds when the players are set of course the centers are going to get antsy and a the wingers are going to encroach.

Looks like Komarov is out. Dominic Moore in as 4C and Turtlenec bumped up to 2C between Marleau and Marner.

7 yet? My 8yo insists I don't watch any of the games w/o him. So we'll get the first two periods tonight and then I go radio silence until we get up early and watch the rest on the DVR. Two for two so far...gotta keep it going, as painful as it is...

That's always been a penalty, they just decided to emphasize it more in the preseason.

We need a strong start, keep them off the PP and don't give them any life. I hope Riley Nash is good to go.

I'd be shocked if it wasn't Lou/Shanny/Babcock making a point about the Bruins with the league office before the start of the series.

No Grz, but looks like Riley is in.

Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak
DeBrusk - Krejci - Rick
Heinen - Riley - Backes
Schaller - Kuraly - Acciari

Chara - McAvoy
Krug - Miller
Holden - McQuaid

deep inside Guido territory
Lines at Bruins skate per Conroy:
Marchand-Bergeron-Pasta
DeBrusk-Krejci-Rick Nash
Heinen-Riley Nash-Backes
Schaller-Kuraly-Acciari

Donato, Wingels, Gionta

However, Riley Nash was skating in a non-contact jersey. So, it has to be still up in the air if he plays or not.

Not sure where you got that. Riley was a full participant. He’s “likely in” and Grz is “likely out” according to Bruce.

Grz has been great this year, I hope he is ok and is back soon. Glad it looks like Riley is in.

I have reach Marchand troll levels at work today. Anyone slightly interested in the NHL that isn’t a Bruins fan has had enough of me, and we’re only two games in. Make it easier for me, boys.

I dont know your co-workers, but I'm guessing that licking them is probably a bad move.

I don't know, Toronto scoring first really doesn't bother me. The Bruins have proven time and again that they can come back from behind and score a fuck ton of goals. Plus Craig Anderson is in net.

Bring it on.

Up until February at some point, the B's had not come back from 2 down at any point this season. Since then, I believe its been 3-4 times. I think this is an example of the team's dedication to Cassidy's system. It is an aggressive system, and occasionally they will give up goals because of bad matchups, aggressive moves that turn out badly, or just bad luck. Their system however, over 60 minutes, creates more chances than it gives up, and that leads to more victories than not. A 7 game series tends to side with the better team. I'm confident in the B's right now.
