Chara has been outstanding tonight. It’s amazing that he’s still their best defenseman at age 40.

Being able to not be on the PP was the best thing that’s happened to his game. His minutes are used so much better on the PK and Even Strength now.

Totally agree, very wise use of his time on Even Strength & the PK. Now let's extend him for a couple of years @ $4M per.

Seems like the Bs exorcised their demons from this weekend after the first period. Not sure how much of that is due to Cassidy juggling the lines, but 2nd period onwards they've been their elite selves again.

This team is gaining more and more momentum every night. Haven't seen this kind of push in YEARS.

Awesome team.

Lightning lose to the Sabres as well, 5-3. Bruins are a point back with two games in hand.

They may have looked uncharacteristically bad this weekend by the standards they set for themselves, but stepping back they still went 4-1 in five games in 8 days.

Well damn, the Bruins got good again. That's nice.
This is nuts. They lost 1 game in row. One. I know you're being sarcastic, but it's crazy how long they've been this good. It's really since they got everyone back after the early injuries. It's been a long time since I've felt like they'll win every game. I hope the kids last through the playoffs.

I think the willingness to juggle lines has been a major strength for Cassidy this season. He wants groups of people on the ice that are working together well, and if someone needs to be swapped for a shift or a period to get a different look or play a matchup better, why not? The next game, the switch might be completely different. Having 4 productive lines makes rotating guys around a much easier task too, because you arent' worried that you're concentrating talent too much at the top 6.

This was the first time I’ve had the chance to really watch them this year. Wow.

I feel like the last 2+ years has been complaining about Sweeney having no plan and second guessing draft picks.

Was anyone expecting this?

I know I didn't. I figured they would be inconsistent all year due to all the young players on the squad, but with enough talent at the high end and in net to make the playoffs as a low seed.

The handful of posts in the predictions thread had them between 98-101 points. They are on pace for 116 points. So, I guess, no?
