It’s a sad day in Bruins history. I don’t know the Bruins without him singing the anthem for the big game
God dammit they make it the makeup game for the blizzard? Half the folks who had tickets for that sold them with the storm looming.
Not sure if I put this in the brush with celebrity thread, but i sat next to Rene at Casey's Diner a couple years ago.

He sang the anthem at my friend's wedding in the summer of 2014. He brought his Stanley Cup ring and must have taken a million pictures with everybody there.
My buddy looked into getting him to do just that. Apparently he was quite expensive and demanded an open bar for himself.
Yeah that's part of the deal. He sang at a friend of mines wedding in 2009. He charged $500 to show up and the deal is he drinks and eats for free. He's a really good guy, hung out most of the night bull shitting with everyone and taking pictures. He found the couple tables in the back full of people you could tell really didn't know anyone there and were thrown together and entertained them all night.
Film some 3D footage of him this year and make a hologram from it. Run the hologram starting next season. I don't want anyone else.
He was $1400. But he's not booking any more dates.

You can get his whole Orchestra. Not putting the link here as I think it has his home phone. We interviewed him when we were getting married, back before you could listen to a band on the internet. Most of the bands we considered told us where they'd be playing at weddings the next couple of weekends and we'd show up dressed nicely and listen for awhile. Rene insisted we come to his house (nice place) and he'd play us a video of the band (so you knew you were getting his best performance). He did do a couple bars of Oh Canada for us.
Hell, pay me $500 and let me eat and drink for free all night and I'll spend the night bullshitting with people too. And I'm an anti-social anxiety having motherfucker, motherfucker.
And on the day Rene Rancourt announced his retirement the Bruins showed a video tribute to . . . . Clode.
